  1. A 'rock you to sleep' feature - that's a first on a model
  2. You should be able to identify the sections by looking for insulated rail joiners (plastic fishplates) or gaps in one or both rails. Graham
  3. I think I might have the same problem since getting my layout running during last year's furlough. Dapol Pendo now just sits and whines with no forward / backward movement. But I can't figure out how to remove the body to look inside. I'm guessing there's clips along the side but how many and where are they? I think part of my problem might have been when I was trying to run a full 9-car set - it's far too heavy for one motor. Has anybody successfully managed to remove some weight from the carriages? Any help will be appreciated. Graham
  4. The hand-held units are used to connect to the main units so you only have 2 controllers in total Graham
  5. Unless they've changed the design since I bought one a few years' ago there's no centre click on the main unit - but there is on the hand-held units. Graham
  6. Well it's usually the quiet one so probably slipped off somewhere never to be heard of again Graham
  7. Perhaps the announcement will be the good people at A/S have had to go 'on the wagon' due to a very wet Xmas / New Year period Graham
  8. If the announcement was just before Xmas I'd bet on it being the HO, HO, HO - used for parcels only
  9. I've managed to remove old Hornby couplings with a mini drill without any heating issue - only takes a few seconds. Graham
  10. Thanks @No Decorumnow managed to fit the pipes - although the whole buffer beam came off in my hands and had to be glued back on. Graham
  11. Thanks for the blu-tac tip - I'll try that later Graham
  12. But the list of who hasn't had the jab will be different to a list of who's actively declined. Graham
  13. A couple of questions regarding these if anybody's added them to their models: 1) does the addition of the speedo cable have much impact on the rotational movement of the bogie? I'm trying to 'dry' fit without glueing to try on my layout but it doesn't want to stay in the holes without permanent fixing 2) looking at the buffer beam pipework nothing is coloured as per others locos - I've reviewed images on the web and I can't see anything conclusive so should any of them be painted before fitting? Graham
  14. How did you get the pipes to fit? I was expecting to push them home and use a bit of glue for permanency. However neither pipe seems to fit the hole. @No Decorum
  15. I'm glad I looked up this thread. I bought 2 of these (Silverlink & Midland versions) in the sales and was concerned about the slow motion. However I don't need them to go fast so I'll stay happy for the time being The other problem I had with both, was what looked like a fuel tank fell off when taken out of the box - simple enough to glue back on. Graham
  16. There's plenty of threads covering this subject which a quick search of the forum will throw up - here's an example - Graham
  17. Isn't that n example of an oxymoron?
  18. Xmas 1968 went in there for a Flying Scotsman. They didn't have one so I came out with a Hornby E3001 & 2 packs of catenary. Changed my modelling habits from steam to diesel in a matter of seconds.
  19. Today's offering from rails for 'N' gauge enthusiasts - various packs of 3 wagons for £24.50 - https://railsofsheffield.com/groups/3293/advent-calendar-day-10
  20. I sent something back for exchange months ago! (Just checked and it was early August) Replacement items received in October thank you Graham
