I found the numberplates while looking for something else. They are fiddly to do this one I superglued, only because it takes about 1/2 an hour to get the soldering kit out. I was pleasently suprised how it went.
You can get a lot of things here but itis knowing where. lots of bits and bobs are sold from houses so it is down to knowing who to ask when you start a search. I can't ask my wife's family, who all live here are lawyers and accountants and know little of the engineering modelling world.

And only one brake van!!!

That looked very impressive, bet it was a relief when the all went through.

So more transport lorries and conjestion in Ambridge

Hi
It looks good. The only thing I would change is the fiddle yard. I would change it for a sector plate with 2 or 3 lines on it. this would give you 3 lines almost as long as your longest siding

Hi Rob
Glad you like it. I hope I can keep up the standard. I am just hoping I measure up to the standards set by all other modellers.
As you can see I want to try and get some lighthearted none railway items in.

Thats impressive, maybe there should be a section somewhere documenting all these oddities.

Hi Nick
sorry about that I looked a few days ago, must be me age.
The Gibson cast kits were good I have a photo in my gallery of a saddle tank from an original kit. The G6 went together well from them too.
Which kit is the johnson of yours? I did a craftsman one years ago.

Well it looks ok from here, and the most important bit is thatit works.

The chassis looks good so far.

Looks so much better with all of hoods in place.

Hi Nick
I like the look of your work. I helped a friend using this foam, I think itis fantastic. Not sure I will be able to use it here though I have not seen it yet. I look forwardto seeing the scenery going on.

I had another look. It really looks the part, the one I did was a belpaire firebox version.
Is the S&DJR your main modelling?
-
Thanks, I am glad you think so. I have liked this version since I saw it in a book years ago. The trouble isI bought this with the intension of selling to finance some other modelling, but if it turns out really good I might want to keep it.

I would think nothing would move under that section of rail.
-
Hi It is actually a Halfords colour I got the name from a published list of car colours which would do for railways. I am tempted to strip and do in precision post 28 which I have. Or to see how it looks when weathered.

The MRD figures like tne Monty ones have a nice bulk about them. So many figures are just to whispy.

Hi Nick

I had mad EM points which worked well. I have O gauge to do soon.
Did you silver solder your V's together?

I have looked at your work, it is lovely, I partially like the O2 I have always had a soft spot for them. My build here is almost done I am just catching up a bit on here. It is actually nearer being finished than shown here.
The tank filler catches were cast but one was broken, made one then had to make to so they matched.
Those mainly cast Gibson kits were originally designed by my uncle.

This is looking very impressive. I have only just found your blog, have you been building this for a long time? All the layouts I see on here make me long to get into our new house and start one myself.

I had not thought of that one. I have stuckm number plates on with varnish. As for soldering I always use my RSU on a very low setting.
