  1. The current Rail magazine, p.33, mentions that LU is I would expect this to take some years to come to fruition, but when it does I would hope that models are produced for sale, either through the LT museum as with the S stock, or direct by the manufacturer with a licence fee paid to LT. Assuming I am still around at that time, I shall certainly buy a set.
  2. Perhaps it means they want to make these things for themselves rather than for others to sell. In that case I'll have half-a-dozen 8-car Electrostars, please Mr Bachmann, with the new low-level motors, etc.
  3. Is there a list of freight headcodes somewhere?
  4. Point of order. Styrene is a colourless oily liquid that evaporates easily, has a sweet smell, and is possibly carcinogenic. What you are talking about is its polymer, polystyrene.
  5. Yes, and with a stop signal on one doll and distant on the other it doesn't inspire confidence.
  6. There's nothing worse than a Doctor's Receptionist who insists you tell her what is wrong with you, in a room full of other patients. I know most of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it: A 75-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk. The Receptionist said, 'Yes sir, what are you seeing the Doctor for today?' 'There's something wrong with my dick', he replied. The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that.' 'Why not, you asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said. The Receptionist replied; 'Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You should have said there is something wrong with your ear or something, and discussed the problem further with the Doctor in private.' The man replied, 'You shouldn't ask people questions in a roomful of strangers if the answer could embarrass anyone.' The man then decided to walk out, waited several minutes, and then re-entered. The Receptionist smiled smugly and asked, 'Yes??' 'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated. The Receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. 'And what is wrong with your ear, Sir?' 'I can't piss out of it,' he replied. The waiting room erupted in laughter. Mess with seniors and you're going to lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. That one calls them electro-diesels. I thought they were straight electric.
  8. Tough. It's against the law for a manufacturer to enforce the recommended retail price.
  9. Is that red background to the number plates correct?
  10. If you want to save lives then all roads ought to be closed and road motor vehicles of any sort should be banned.
  11. I'm looking forward to the day when I have my own printer, and I can download a file from the internet and print it myself. That will remove a lot of the problems mentioned above at a stroke.
  12. I'm not bothered by what people are arguing about. As far as I am concerned, I shall be happy when the models I have ordered and part paid for are delivered and running on my layout. Until then, I am waiting patiently. I am not bothered by anything else the other parties in the manufacture of these models may or may not be doing.
  13. We have had this discussion before. Anybody who lets young children view forums unsupervised (yes, including this one) wants locking up for child abuse. As far as I am concerned, the only reason you want the picture to be censored is because you don't like it. Young children have nothing to do with it.
  14. That's why cars have reverse gear :-)
  15. Yes, it is a bit tight, and first radius is even tighter. But it goes back to the old Tri-ang Railways Super 4 track, which was designed when model railways were "toy trains". If you don't like second radius, there's always third and fourth radii, or you can lay your own with flexible track, perhaps using Tracksetta templates to help you keep a consistent curve.
  16. Here's another one; again not the UK, but Bessemer, Alabama http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2015/04/authorities_are_on_the_scene_o.html
  17. But remember that the up hill and down dale amounts are very small when reduced to your modelling scale.
  18. Well, there is a teak inspection saloon running around on one of the heritage railways. It's even the right railway to go with the Stirling single. I had a wonderful trip and a cream tea on it on Easter Sunday. Perhaps someone would like to scan it and make some models of it. I'd certainly buy one.
  19. And models of all three by this time next year. You know we want you to ...
