  1. Great news, I wonder if any more are pipelined?
  2. Cracking photos and useful tables! I’d stop worrying about what others think and enjoy the information you have compiled from research. I’ve looked at the data and decided the simplest thing to do is buy both packs and all the coaches, then I can mix/match as I fancy!
  3. And a big hint on page 66 about TTS Chips “ ..but the (Hornby) engineers are constantly looking at way to improve sound quality in the Hornby models, and are beginning to fit alternative speaker fitting options into the newly tooled models in the 2020 range, such as A2, 2MT and W1. The design of the class 91 will introduce a new speaker configuration and application for Hornby taking TTS forward in its development”. !!

  5. Completely agree. the 2020 range is good and I've pre-ordered a 6 locos so far. But the complete lack of any new TTS is disappointing. I can only hope there is a mid-year announcement of new TTS? Just perhaps, they held off on new TTS so not to clash with the new H&M DC control system? Who knows!
  6. Any new TTS chips? I can’t see any Listed?
  7. Hhhhmmmmm, well that’s chucking a Gauntlet......
  8. Hi Mike I think the reviewer got himself (somewhat) confused between the three models! So, I re-checked. Look at the following pics. To be sure, I put a blob of orange paint of the screw tower and re-assembled, you can clearly see that it mates and holds firmly in place. The glazing has no structural role within the Hornby assembly. I think it's role within the Lima unit is to hold the weight in place, not required with Hornby as the weight is glued down.
  9. Nop, the body has extension tunnels for the two screws, the glazing simply sleeves over these tunnels, the screws do up (finger) tight, with the body firmly and correctly fitting on the chassis.
  10. Just fitted mine with a TTS Ventela, lots of room for the speaker and chips IF you remove the massive glazing unit. Which is only need for the rear widows, most of it is superfluous!
  11. Yes. It will. And the exhaust.
  12. Well, that’s what it sounds like under load! Need start up sequence now!
  13. Hi Richard. Type YJ (Ventura) was used in a number of Applications. As always, it’s not the loco that’s important, it’s the engine that gives the sound personality. I would think a HST is closer -but it’s a guess! Wiki: The engine as originally fitted to the HSTs was designated 12RP200L and was a V12 four-stroketurbo-charged & intercooled diesel unit of 79 litres which developed 2,250 bhp at 1,500 rpm. The design of the Valenta was based on the Ventura which was fitted to the Class 29 diesel locomotives, amongst others. The engine is famous for the "Valenta Scream" on starting from rest, a distinctive high-pitched whine caused by the engine's turbocharger.[2][3]In 1977, the Valenta received the Queen's Awards for Enterprise.[4] Anybody know a Ventura in use as a Genset?
  14. Far easier to buy this new HST pack or R2707 (Virgin) and swap the bodies over?
  15. Meh, black; dull, boring, depressing, dreary. But, like wow! There’s really something about it. Absolutely brutish. I’ve gotta have one!
  16. Liking the new Hull Trains 802 livery....and TPE should be a shoe in?
  17. Interest confirmed. Will order a sound as soon as (if) it’s confirmed for release
  18. I’ll be ordering! Will look good with my GT 3. Now what heck did it sound like??
  19. Ok, key points, ability to control F1-30 with direct access. Large info screen so can see status, enough mph to have 30 (ish) sound idling (all my DCC are sound) with 4 trains in motion. Looked at Guagemaster, but out of stock. Wireless not required. Budget not an issue. Will move eventually to PC based system, but not currently convinced of long term longevity and future system continuity. Hence looking for stand alone control unit until DCC matures with a future proof PC platform. Thanks for your help!
  20. Thanks for this. The “roster” is a deal issue for me, so it’s going back. Seems to be a lack of decent DCC controllers on the market.
  21. Thanks John. But I use long addresses on Elite and the loco was reprogrammed with long address on Dynamis as well. Your right, it SHOULD work with any NMRA standard. Advised by Bachmann that each loco needs to be programmed into the base unit first.
