  1. Agreed! I’ve yet to run them, so I’m guessing but, the pivot poles are deep, so cant see how they could uncouple. Much prefer individual coach power than a line bus. Couplings on VEP/CEP/TC etc are all very fiddely and fragile. So the APT solution is way more robust and easy to reform/split.
  2. I’ve bought a NDM coach so my 7 car set will have two power cars for 14. That should do it!
  3. I think you’ll find there’s a high probability they (coach packs/power car) will have all sold out before the sets arrive. So I agree it’s not ideal. I’m going to take delivery and trust all will be ok.
  4. ARRIVED! Well, just had payment taken for - BR, Class 370 Advanced Passenger Train Non-Driving Motor (NDM), 49004. So APT items are starting to arrive!
  5. * your guess is as good as mine Green stripe instead of orange I think!
  6. Agreed. And then a GWR King, as the brand is evolved into a premium product. The logical extension of that would be a premium D+E loco………
  7. Great! And you can just make out the MK4 bogie on the TCK, with the blue damper, which is missing on the model.
  8. Very impressive! (Just some quick pics)
  9. Not quite. These are the original (single bolster, I think) bogies so are correct for early green units. Phase two units {non powered} had commonwealth trailers from new. The original trailer bogies on phase 1 units were rebuilt with an additional damper, blue in the centre (mk4) , I think from the late ‘60s to improve the ride. Hence phase 1 B+G had mk4. And phase 2 commonwealth. It’s a bit simpler on refurbished units, which all had commonwealth-except a small batch that initially ran on mk4s!
  10. At this price! It’s disappointing to see the other trailer coaches bogies (not motor bogies) with the wrong type, certainly on the B+G. They should be the mk4, leaf spring with prominent central damper.
  11. Found this randomly on the Hornby website. Not clickable though. 2X Cl47, MK2 and 4X MK3?
  12. Completely interchangeable. I’ve several RB running on BR1s and have 16 MK1s on commonwealth, that had BR1s. (I’ve bought various H MK1 in B+G with commonwealths for the bogies) Most, but not all, of the B+G were on commonwealth.
  13. Just had payment taken for Aberdeen Commonwealth ! Must have arrived at Hornby!
  14. I gave up and ordered from Hornby.
  15. Have a look at the ashpan on the rebuilt MN vs the original MN. I know which I prefer! Fixed with flangless looks WAY better!
  16. TTS 0%? Wow I've fitted 74 to my fleet now, only one dead at time of install. I can’t comment on running life though.
  17. Mine arrived also today. A very impressive debut. Yes, front bogie guide irons transposed (almost invisible) and the handrail issue on the front. But overall, I’m very impressed-very high level of finish and the sound is great. Looking toward to the Fell and Leader now!
  18. *waits patently for my sound version..... Hope it’s coming next week?
  19. Now £499 RRP. Gulp.
  20. If I remember. Go through the check out process. When it’s the payment box, step 4 or 5, it gives you the split payment option. Check this snd it takes you to the split payment provider.
  21. Yep. Me also. No problems. Grey crest for me!
