  1. Just make sure the decoder does everything you want it to, as it is cheaper than the Zimo/ESU products for a reason (IMHO!). Steve
  2. Damn that is wierd. I have no idea why if you ask for a particular value it then does something totally different. It could be the Digitrax decoder, perhaps someone with experience of writing CVs with a Digitrax can offer something more helpful than me?! Maybe a post in the DCC section will get a response?
  3. That's why I use an "exponential" speed curve with my ESU decoders. Using LokProgrammer I am able to set this up with one simple click (preset). This doesn't effect the acceleration and deceleration rates previously discussed, which simply dictates the number of seconds taken to get from 0 to max speed and max speed to zero.
  4. Well I'm hanging my head in shame, as I've no idea what changes I implimented with the previously quoted CVs, One thing's for sure, it wasn't what you asked for. 🙄 I can positively confirm having just tried it, that to swap F9 (two tone horn) and F2 (dynamic brake function) then adjust the following CVs. Note that CV31/32 are index CVs and have to be set first, followed by the subsequent CVs below each pair of indices. CV31 = 1, CV32 = 1 ---------------------- CV261 = 192 CV262 = 106 CV275 = 64 CV276 = 59 CV31 = 16, CV32 = 8 ---------------------- CV340 = 0 CV343 = 2 CV452 = 8 CV455 = 0 Let me know if it all works. Steve
  5. Sorry to hear that. Let me check this evening and do some troubleshooting. Steve
  6. The exact same info applies to the LokSound/LokPilot 5 DCC decoders. However the "multi-function" LokSound/LokPilot 5 decoders use a multiplier of 0.25 (and I have no idea why!). The ESU decoders also allow for heavy and light loads, effectively adjusting the effects of intertia as mentioned in the first post. Steve
  7. Bottom line, don't blindly follow the DCC concepts advice but understand what is going on with their examples and then apply it to your installation. Their advice is 100% accurate, but only with the installation as illustrated. The orientation of the motors is fundamental to the solution, as is the feeds into the double slip. Perhaps you need to work out what is happening with the feed from point "SL-E791BH"?
  8. Or the TOPS number that D6700 got slotted in to - 37119, a stalwart of the NE freight scene throughout the 70s. Steve
  9. They add character and style to an already great design. A bit like icing on a cake. Over time the art of design was lost and various members of the Frankenstein family were allowed to work on the front ends, culminating in the grotesque mutilation that is the WIPAC light 😉😉 Steve
  10. I've had nothing but great and polite service from the huge quantity of Amazon deliveries I've received, including from suppliers that are like Hattons and simply using Amazon as a delivery service only. In fact I would rate Amazon up there with Royal Mail/Parecelforce and certainly above the rest. Steve
  11. Having been a South Surrey resident for 5 years Britannia was my go to. Such a shame they've decided to call it a day. Steve
  12. I've flown on quite a few A340s, but perhaps the most unusual was a Lufthansa A340-600 I took from FRA to YVR. All seemed normal and of course very "Lufthansa" until it came to locating the toilets. You actually go down a staircase into the hold to use the facilities, that was certainly a first for me. Steve
  13. Scrapped 10 years after it's first flight from KPAE. Quite shocking really. Steve
  14. It's great to see something being staged further North, but sadly I won't be making the 750 mile round trip. Steve
  15. Highland 24s becoming an ever more distant promise? 🥹 Announced October 2018, EPs saw the light of day July 2022, and then .......... ?? Steve
  16. It can't be that simple, as all locos would demonstrate the issue. I have 6 AS locos and thankfully don't have an issue with any. Steve
  17. It's been stated a few times that the notifications go out in batches, so that those who have requested notifications 'first' have the best opportunity to order one. The notifications will stop being sent once there is nil stock. There's no way of proving it, but I suspect you were too far down the list. Steve
  18. And you cannot adjust the sensitivity/angles or anything else. Flange squeel On or Off is the only control. Steve
  19. I do have two workarounds, one being much "easier" than the other. The more complex solution really needs the Lokprogrammer, as otherwise it requires a lot of CV changes. Let me know if you have a Lokprogrammer. Sadly the behaviour is baked into the sound project. Steve
  20. So many of the posts on this thread make it such a difficult read. There's too much unique and personal stuff that would be better directed towards Accurscale support on their website. Please give Fran and the guys a break, as basic support isn't their role and these posts run the risk that we will stop getting the kind of AS presence we've become used to. Steve
  21. I wouldn't recommend a reset unless you have totally hit a brick wall. Nigel has given you the required CV change to just have the docoder in DCC mode. That's the first step. Deleting the "loco's" from ECoS will also be required. I assume that ECoS is registering the loco automatically, in which case the decoder will have Railcom+ enabled. That's fine, and it should then grab all the required info into ECoS when you next place the loco on the track. Hopefully no more M4 duplication. The not moving off but having appropriate sound responses might be that the "drive hold" function is enabled and on? Something to explore once you get rid of the M4 complication. It could also be a fault with the loco. Did you try it on DC before fitting the decoder?
  22. It's in the leaflet titled "Operating and caring for your Accurascale model". Middle pages (parts diagram), bottom left. Although I don't have a refurb Class 37 model, so this is just an assumption that they'll all be the same. Steve
  23. I never recommend a product just because I use it, as by default my knowledge of alternatives will be virtually zero. If someone is looking to move away from AVG then I suggest google something like "best antivirus software 2023", then look at reviews and opinions from some of the expert tech websites out there. Careful though because some of the reviews that look independant won't be, they will simply be there to promote one product! Steve
  24. @jjb1970 The Hunter is one of those truly classic British designs. What a shame that we no longer have a substantial aircraft design and manufacturing sector. In it's time it was truly innovative and world leading. What's the plans for the museum at Paya Lebar? Is it getting to stay on its current site? Steve
