  1. I believe they do drop to reveal the hook. I’m wondering if they are like the Ellis Clarke Drop heads as for the lines in the window, they weren’t white, they are coppery sort of colour but also very thin being the demisting elements, but these are very very over size
  2. you’ve got the wrong one, I need to see the NSE version
  3. 128 was EW&S 131 was EWS. So if you put the appropriate text on it will only work for one loco
  4. because 131 and 128 had different combinations of logo and EWS or EW&S text at different times so by making them blank people add which version they want with or without logos
  5. So with the imminent arrival of the class 73, are there any pictures of the livery corrections, especially the NSE livery which was very wrong for 126? I’m assuming the pictures on rails are still older pictures as the intercity version still has 102 and the nameplate still shown
  6. why would you want 47472 in provincial? It never was 😉
  7. Well, what to do, what to do. Was going to model up to date now scene in N gauge and have bought some stock to represent that era, but with 86’s, 90’s and now 87, including a proper 87101 (wrong pantograph from how I remember her) which was the first AC loco I ever had for haulage is making me think my layout might need to be timeframe free. The only downer is there is no space provided for a speaker (even if there’s no speaker actually fitted) as I do like sound. Admittedly not as great as O gauge sound, but it does bring a layout to life even if quiet
  8. I thought it was recorded at Soho when the loco was previously on test there. I may of course be wrong
  9. Well, as I’m now entering the N gauge scale side of the hobby, and as such cancelled my OO 89, I’m happy for accurascale to redo modern class 37’s of the current scene. my current fleet of loco s is a Farish class 60, a Dapol and Farish 66 to compare, and a class 67. I would definitely be interested in current variations of 37’s from the main companies, DRS, WCR, LSL and appropriate mk1 and MK2 coaches in modern liveries as used in railtour sets so old BR liveries with modern logos and CDL lights perhaps as applicable. So I shall hold back from purchasing these items in the hope that accurascale decide what they are going to do
  10. Whatever it is, I think my money is safe being Southern region, as the main classes are covered by Heljan. And as my layout is pretty much completed at this time once I assemble my shed roof, then I’ll be heading off to N gauge as I’m lacking room for another O gauge layout I think, as I doubt it’ll be an AC electric so an AC shunting plank will not be on the cards lol

    Dapol 08

it appears to be partly dependent on where they were painted in the first place. The southern ones were definitely thicker than the Dapol application
  12. can you not upload the video onto YouTube so everyone can see? That would include people who don’t subscribe to this forum who would also have your couplers
  13. the bigger issue is the point of the yellow on the side of the loco. Completely wrong location for the modelled loco. And that is why I cancelled that pre order until I can verify the livery has been corrected
  14. Well, I have changed the title of this thread, according to google it is the German translation for “the museum railway” on the basis that as I don’t know enough about German railways with geographical styles and allocations, rolling stock eras etc, if it’s a fictional museum, then in theory I can actually run what I like without actually being wrong. And my railway can shunt and run demonstration freight as well as passengers that said, my 4 diesel locomotives and 2 steam currently are all era 3, so does have a theme at the minute
  15. Yes, its a Lenz class V160, aka BR216 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB_Class_V_160
  16. looks great, but why was there no provision for a speaker?
  17. Ooh, a German loco that will fit on my UK layout 🤩 at least I can play until I get my garden railway built
  18. Oops, yes, you are quite correct, I misread something on another site. Sorry everyone lol
  19. Thanks for your continued help with information on a topic I’m not familiar with, so I am keeping my little KofII and will attempt to fix the upper headlight which leads me to another question whilst it’s apart, what colour should the wheels be before I weather it? As you can see they are unpainted and shiny. Red? Black? thanks in advance, and I have quite a few wagons to weather now too. I might get some done next week
  20. that’s brilliant. Thank you. Confirms my suspicion that it plugs in and is the decoder. Just got to hook it out now, and it shows the upper headlight assembly in bits too. I think I can fix it
  21. I have purchased a Lenz starter set with a KOF 2 shunter from Hattons, but they packed the loco in the wrong way round which has resulted in the bonnet headlight being knocked off. I have been offered a partial refund or a full return, so I am trying to gain access to see if it is repairable. However, I can’t get the circuit board out. I know it has to come out because the circuit board below it has a screw in it so the only access is to remove this first board. It’s loose ish at the capacitor end but tighter the other end but don’t want to blindly yank it out breaking it more, so can anyone tell me how on earth this board comes out? thanks
