  1. Probably one of my favourites of 2016 so far, 66737 'Lesia' rips through Moore with 1Z31 'The Yorkshire Dales Explorer' (Salisbury to Leeds) 14/5/16 by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr
  2. Religious Studies finished forever, now to slowly feed the pages of my RS book through a paper shredder where they belong...

Accumulating knowledge is never wasteful, as you will undoubtedly find out.

It is useful to learn of other peoples religious beliefs, but the GCSE RS short course is tedious beyond belief

Many things in life are tedious. You don't always have a choice.

  3. Final exams begin tomorrow, first up is French. Reasonably confident but certainly nervous!!!

Higher tier or foundation? Our higher tier was about e-cigarettes and selfies....waste of time

Higher tier, yes everyones been talking about the daft questions on it!

Listening wasn't a nice paper but reading for me was a doddle for most of it, was on to the last page with 20 minutes left!

  4. 66779 spotted uncovered, 0Z66 to York today. Not my photo. 66737 66779 0Z66 Church Fenton by British Rail 1980s and 1990s, on Flickr
  5. Fastest and cheapest way really, as there's no wires at Toton and it needs to go by road to get into the NEC
  6. With DB Schenker now known as DB Cargo, 90019 (ex Scotrail livery) has been painted at Toton It's to be named at Multimodal shortly Note the lack of 'Schenker' logos and DB logo being higher up https://twitter.com/dbcargouk/status/728491135413436416 Photo from DB Cargo UK Twitter feed (see link)
  7. 57312 'The Hood' with DCC sound for £156? Don't mind if I do!

  8. Looks good!! Spotted the new Dallam freight flow, the odd 60 performing on it too! 60059 Swindon Dalesman 6F07 at Walton by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr
  9. Not so good, high ISO due to fading sun 47727 Rebecca Colas at Tamworth 0Z56 by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr
  10. Double DRS livery 57/3 aren't necessarily rare on 6K73, more uncommon. Here, 57306 'Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate 175' and 57301 'Goliath' pass Warrington Bank Quay with 6k73 Sellafield BNF to Crewe Coal yard on April 26, 2016 Interestingly, the pair were booked to work 'K73 the day before on TOPS, but 37604/069 performed instead, presumed to be because 069 needed to return to Crewe. This wasn't an easy shot to pull off, as I have very little experience in dusk lighting, certainly made settings choices interesting...
  11. Less than a month until exam no.1, not a nice thought...

  16. 66524 6Y54 Basford Hall - Rochdale 2/4/16 by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr 66703 Doncaster PSB 5Z87 at Hartford by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr 66414 4K45 Ditton to Basford Hall at Hartford 2/4/16 by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr 66147 6Z20 WASHWOOD HEATH R.M.C. - ARPLEY SIDINGS - Acton Bridge by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr
  17. And its had about 3 repaints just into europorte livery! (Believed to be because the vinyl GBRf logo kept peeling off!) A pealing 746: https://www.flickr.com/photos/67444577@N02/14699778899/in/photolist-ooYd8M-oJbpwy-8MBXRB-8rEV8j-9suJHC-apkVqt-apkVgt-oer4Jj

Manchester WAG reportedly not got long left though sadly, going back to units. Locos hired of DBS, coaching stock is DB Regio (of the top of my head) and theres an arriva* coach with chiltern covering for the fire damaged one HTH (Sorry for the thread Hijack Jim)
  19. Noticed over the last few weeks theres now a stone working into Dallam, seems to be 60 hauled too! 6F07 Peak forest Cemex to Dallam Freight depot, stone hoppers unloaded at Dallam

By this point an impressive 53 minutes down (With the up working actually passing about 5 minutes after the light loco move (0Z20) back to WWH was meant to pass Acton Bridge!) 66147 roars through Acton Bridge with 6Z20 Washwood Heath R.M.C to Arpley Sidings wagon job. 12/3/16 Next up from Freightliner, 66618 'Railways Illustrated Annual Photographic Award - Alan Barnes' passes Acton Bridge station in some of the better light of the day with 6H35 Runcorn Folly Lane - Northended Bin Liner 12/3/16
