  1. First set of really interesting Hornby releases in a while, although not sure why the IEP model is limited to 250? That said, tempting!

The 250 LE is the Hitachi livery, not the GW.

I wonder how long it will be before this one gets released in other colour schemes.

How much they charge for other colour schemes remains to be seen.

GW is limited edition too according to the Hornby Website

      "Gauge 00

      Livery GWR Green

      Limited Edition Yes

      Limited Edition Size 250

      Period Current

      Motor 5 Pole Skew Wound"

  2. Just a post of note, Colas' 56096 had a test train jolly last night and this morning, assisting 37025 on 3Q79 Dundee - Mossend DY and 3Z79 Mossend DY - Carlisle. Believe this is only the second time a 56 has done a test train.
  3. Why oh why does our Media coursework need to be done on Prezi, which I don't believe I will ever understand how to work

      That's probably why.

You don't seriously imagine they'd allow you to use a method you're comfortable with, do you?

After all, isn't this stuff meant to be difficult?

It's just an annoying website to use, especially using an apple mouse which it really doesn't like

Mr Gove's meddling is greatly appreciated by college students and teachers

  4. Looks like 1Q06 will be worth going for either Tuesday or Wednesday then, nice pics as always Jim.

Agree. The travesty is most have judging by the lack of people wearing a poppy

      Mad McCann

I haven't worn one this year mate. I remember every day.

What scunnered me was seeing poppies on the side of a fighter jet and a 'poppyroni' pizza in Tesco.

Maybe it's not the people who forget...

  8. For anyone who cares, 56104s been hired by Colas... Did 6E07 Boston steel today

I think the "physical reboot" sounds much more enjoyable.

I wouldn't try it myself, though.

  10. Why is it Slideshare never works whenever you need it?

  11. Looking at night shots on flickr is a very dangerous thing, now that Nikon D7200 and prime looks tempting...

Er, no. A prime lens is simply one that is not a zoom!

  12. Although certainly far from home that looks like a brilliant job, great photos as usual!
  13. I can conform the trying to get a doctors appointment in Warrington requires at least an hour of your time and a sacrifice to the Gods....

  14. Very nice Jim, hopefully these pair head up on the STP Derby RTC - Craigentinny as I see they come back tomorrow from Daaarn Saaaff as then i'll finally get a photo of 057!
  15. Will be good when Northern get it and it just sits idle all day, cue the "37/5 that mate, don't sign 'em, only /4s"
  16. Just seen Hornby's 60066 RRP has now risen to £175.99 DCC READY, and they wonder why less people are buying stock brand new?

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

Oh for the days when they were "only" £75.99. And people moaned about the price even then.

New Southern cattle wagon £21.99 - wow!

    3. Swifty11

      Swifty11

I'm sure it'll go nicely with those bargain Drax wagons, seen as it did work a small train of them once...

  17. Of a side note, the removal of the 'Schenker' part of the branding is beginning, so far 66185 and 90036 have lost theirs. 66055/056 have both come out in new DB livery with large DB logos on the side and have been named. Additionally, 90036 is with VTEC for use on shuttles between KGX and Newark North gate to cover for 91 maintenance. Only one will be going on hire and only KGX drivers will be trained on them. Hence the Newark limit.
  18. I was hoping to but had other commitments (explained in PM) A decent sunny shot of 025 will forever elude me I think!
  19. 59003 still being used on the Tinsley flow this week. Not guaranteed to work it every day though...
  20. Jim spotted out and about on 3Q29 this evening, seen passing me at Moore... 37025 - 3Q29 - Moore by Swifty's Rail Pics, on Flickr
  21. I'm sticking with m vote for early 2000s as shown here, loads of potential bits to model!
