  1. Ooooh excellent, they look fab! I’d better get some preordered I think! Only last week I sat and thought I’m surprised Rapido aren’t doing any NCB wagons…so I decided to convert some similar private owner wagons into NCB internal users for use on my new layout…if only I’d of waited a week! 🙄😂
  2. A few photos outside before being packed away for a short time (I need the build space for my new layout project…watch this space). This is “Glenadam Distillery”…
  3. Stunning 👏 Love the Matt black smokebox, really finishes it off! Cant wait for 7802 & 7812 😁
  4. Ticked a few small jobs off over the last few days. 1. Footplate crew added to ‘Robert Burns” 2. Coal loads added to my MDVs 3. Some more signage added around the layout. I'm currently just modifying the fiddle yard to be more user friendly, I’ll share updates soon! Heres a photo dump of the recent progress and just some other angles of the layout that you probably haven’t seen before… Cheers! 🥃
  5. Very nice, it’s a model I’m looking forward to!
  6. Will we see production samples of the manors soon? The last update was to have the models here by the end of June I believe, we’re only a week & 2 days away 👀 Hate to pester but it’s a model I’m looking forward to!
  7. I also think people have to remember it’s 4mm scale with some of the expectations, people want more and more but then grumble when timelines are pushed back. In my eyes these types of models have come along way in a short space of time, maybe we’re now spoilt with what the manufacturers are putting out, it’s not that long ago that a diesel locos detail pack would have a vacuum pipe and a stiff screw link coupling to add and nothing else. I do love these ultra detailed models but I also still get enjoyment out of doing some actual modelling and detailing / updating ‘older’ 5-15 year old models up to modern standards. Keep up the good work 👍
  8. Thank you very much Marc, your continued interest and kind comments are much appreciated 🙂 Thank you! Here is a picture of the Peckett, I’m going for a work stained but ‘kept clean’ finish. I’ve also splashed the cash on Scottish loco to add to the layout fleet 😁
  9. I’ve also started to tackle the weathering of my rolling stock, I’ll tackle my locos later once I’ve practiced on my wagons. Here are the first two I’ve done, Accurascale’s MDV wagons, I left one clean so I’d at least got one left if I made a balls up of the first two! They still need some more fettling yet, I’m not happy with the insides and there’s also some coal dust to add to one and a coal load to add to the other! Thanks for looking 🥃
  10. I sat looking at the layout last night and thought I want something to cover up the direction change on the backscene, I noticed a number of distillery buildings have a long thin chimney and decided that would be perfect as it would also add some depth to the distillery itself. So the next thing was find something close or make something from scratch, it turns out we have a lot of Calpol syringes from when my son was a baby and it turns out the internals of one of these fit the job perfectly! Work with what you have! 😁
  11. The most annoying thing about this 3 1/2 year delay is that I actually really want one! 😂
  12. Cheers Alex, I will check them out. I’m always after advice 😁
  13. Very kind of you Alex thank you 🙏 My next ‘To do’ is weather and detail my stock, it looks a little too clean to be in the Scottish highlands! Here’s a few more pictures from todays ‘playing trains’ session 😁
  14. Looks like the fireman of Scottish allocated J72 68733 has overcooked it as it arrives at the distillery sidings with a single brake van working a pick up goods. I had the Hornby brake van in my spares box, I just had to chop it with the dremel, paint and weather it. The J72 is an old mainline version that I picked up from eBay for £8, I just gave it a quick respray, added some transfers and gave it a little weathering. I just wanted to add something different to help with the scenic break. Still needs further tweaking until I’ll be happy with it but you get the idea. Cheers, Adam
  15. I agree, a single class 20 is the perfect super shunter 😁
  16. Hi Stu, The fences are from scale model scenery, kit numbers LX058 & LX373. Cheers Adam
  17. Accurascale obviously can’t help things taking longer than they expected. Take Hornby’s approach, this is the model we’re producing, it may arrive some point this year, or the next, or the next! At least Accurascale try and give a rough estimate when delivery is expected.
  18. Thank you! Yes definitely, I’m hoping to get some in the book for next year although developments in life may delay this until 2025, but 100% at some point I will be on the show circuit with it 🙂
  19. Thank you very much Ian. On the whole I’m pretty happy with the Distillery itself now, just more detailing to do around the loco shed and mainline area. I’d love to feature in the Micro Model Railway Dispatch, I will definitely drop you a line once I’m finished with the detailing. Thanks again! A further update I’ve now added the front face to the layout. Adam
  20. D8006 on trial in Scotland in 1958… or on my micro layout in 2023 😁
