  1. Funny you should say that. My day job is spent working on another Synchrotron and I can say that proper CAD design, be that 3D or 2D takes a lot of learning.
  2. Stunning Tom. For the second time my Wife asked have we been on that one?
  3. Danny Ric to be replaced by Liam Lawson after a suspected broken wrist. Piastri span on the banking and Danny Ric had nowhere to go and joined him in the barrier. The backlash on the steering wheel was pretty violent.
  4. Just received my Accurascale Manor from Derails. Superb service as usual plus a little extra. That's why they are my go to model shop.
  5. That's two 7808 in Didcot now. The Accurascale version has just arrived via Derails. I couldn't believe the size of the packaging and it becomes apparent when you open it. The box alone is enormous compared to other manufacturers. Plus a booklet on the Manor class that is very well done. The model is absolutely stunning. Everything in the right place. The weight is unbelievable. I've only given it a quick run on the rolling road, but it's smooth. I will find a length of track to try it on tomorrow. I've got the sound chip on order from Accurascale as well. The bar has well and truly be raised. Well done Accurascale. 👏
  6. 7808 due to arrive tomorrow, about a mile from the real thing. I will have for fish out the rolling road as I haven't got a layout atm. But I'm in the process of partitioning the garage to build a layout that will hopefully feature an 81E inspired shed and Arley station. I also succumbed to an Accurascale sound chip to go with it.
  7. As one team principal has said, only Bernie could lob a grenade from half way round the world to have it land in the F1 paddock.
  8. And looking more like Davros every time I see him! He became a father again a while ago! I pity the mother, just hope for her sake a turkey baster was involved. 🤢

Ours do like to sit on any railway related magazines left on the console table.
  11. They are handy things to have when doing sheet metal work
  12. Like these perhaps? https://www.frost.co.uk/temporary-sheet-metal-fastener-kit/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwuNemBhCBARIsADp74QR_K-6GHHqC9iedG8ha8UiSPZdm5dcUHwKK88Lq1KieqyWo1qlTEI4aAkl-EALw_wcB
  13. There is a pretty good documentary on more4 on the Vulcan Blackbuck raid. I do miss that Vulcan howl.
  14. I'm hoping for a descent 4-4-0 County and hopefully the Modelu guys can do a rendition of my Great Grandfather from photos for the driver of 3815.
  15. I must try the graphite trick on my 009 layout. I have a lump of "reactor grade" graphite at work which might be worth a try. The thing that make me slightly sceptical is that certain grades of graphite contain varying amounts of potash.
  16. Love the Vulcan. I remember it from the old Abingdon Air Show. It would take off and literally go vertical. The noise was deafening, but incredible. If you want a good read I recommend Vulcan 607 which covers the the Falklands mission.
  17. Yeah, sprint race weekends are a right mix up. Especially as the sprint doesn't make ny difference to qualifying for the Sunday race.
  18. It was a DNF in the sprint race. Top 3 were Verstappen, Piastri and Gasly.
  19. Good to see the Dinorwic wagons to compliment the Quarry Hunslets. I was looking at some kits a few weeks ago, but with limited time on my hands the RTR version has won the day.
  20. Unfortunately not by a couple of years. One of my earliest memories was 7808 passing through Appleford on the GWS Vintage train I think. Dad took me to see it. Although I probably saw it in late 1970, but only being a month or so old have no recollection.
  21. Red Bull break their own trophy.
