  1. The reintroduction of the NER hopper wagon kit is just amazing! Well done to Slaters, definitely will be ordering a few, and will carry on to buy them every now and then, a must for any north eastern layout.
  2. Fantastic news, would you mind sharing the price?? Or perhaps another thread or website with further info?
  3. Hello all, thought I would share this. Started it two years ago, but had issues with the running qualities, so recently I took it back out and stripped it down and improved the running. Now I'm happy that its complete and finished. Thanks, Nelson
  4. Thank you for letting us know, email sent for a body kit, will post pics if it arrives.
  5. Anyone with any experience in travelling from Gatwick Airport to Paddock Wood by train?

      Gatwick - Redhill - Tonbridge - Paddock Wood, 1hr 27, £13.50 single, or Gatwick - London Bridge - Paddock Wood, 1 hr 24, £27.10

      NXEA!

Fairly easy, change at Redhill and Tonbridge. You'll have to use the stairs at Redhill but there's lifts if you have lots of luggage, and the same is true of Tonbridge. Should take you around 60-80 minutes. There's frequent services between Gatwick-Redhill and 3tph from Tonbridge-Paddock Wood, but beware as there's only a hourly service between Redhill-Tonbridge. See if you can spot the tunnel of the Uckfield line around Edenbridge, took me a while to notice!

  6. And a lined version, in gauge one if that's what you fancy. https://railsofsheffield.com/products/36347/golden-age-models-dynamometer-gauge-1-gauge-1-lner-dynamometer-car-1938-mallard-run-version-coach-no-23591-adapted-for-speed-testing-
  7. Hello everyone, Has anyone purchased and made up any of the NER carriages that are currently on offer from Diagram3D (as seen in the link below) I have seen and read Mike Trice's excellent thread on the GNR Carriages but was just wondering if anyone has built the NER ones. If anyone has any photos, please feel free to share them. http://www.diagram3d.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=70_80 Thanks in advance, Nelson.
  8. First magazine I bought in a while and by ignoring the typo mistakes, it's very good, enjoyable!
  9. I used Halfords red plastic primer on this ratio kit and it seems to have worked well. Nelson
  10. Any update on Slaters and their reintroduction of kits??
  11. Good to see the model but got some serious eye strain from the focusing unfortunately, may only be me tho. Can't wait till the model is released!
  12. Starting to feel really concerned about driving 45mph on the motorway, far too many near misses recently :/

I never exceeded 45mph while driving a car before passing my test. Only used top (4th) gear once. Waste of time. Worst thing is having to stop on a Motorway before a n average speed camera because your average speed read out since the last camera is 60 and the limit 50

  13. Here's my competed model, more photos can be seen on my workbench thread. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/75169-nelsons-workbench-rolling-stock-from-ulster/?p=3161016 Nelson
  14. Hello all, I believe this is the first completed modelling piece of 2018, I started it at the Bangor show, and now it's finally done apart from couplings (screw) and transfers. The shade of brown is often debated upon, so I've just based mine off a photo in and used various shades of brown. Thanks, Nelson
  15. I have little interest in modern image but stumbled across this thread and have been reading the past few pages, the work your doing is really superb so I'm gonna carry on reading. Nice work keep it up!
  16. As seen here, perhaps a mod could merge the thread http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/129851-harland-wolff-locomotive-kit/
  17. It is sad that there are no model shops anymore (apart from my old toy box) but it's just the way things are, many items are far cheaper online.
  18. The article from roundhouse is top, very good piece.
  19. Hello all, I'm looking to purchase one of the newer releases Hornby 2P locomotives, any livery, it just has to be the newer loco drive version. If anyone has ant for sale, do let me know. Thanks in advance, Nelson
  20. I was interested in buying a can until I found out the local Halfords does not stock it for some reason. The photos above make it look really good. I like others, have a frustration when "matt" paints don't actually turn matt.
  21. I still think the series is quite an embarrassment, and the whole drinking sequences in the recent episode, was that really nessecary?
  22. Saw this the other day and thought it was just amazing.
