      Happy birthday.

  2. Downfall and Das Boot as mentioned above, would be my number one ww2 era films, if you haven't seem them, I highly recommend that you do.
  3. I must say I rather enjoy reading this thread, lots of very interesting information and wonderful modelling as well! If it is of any help, I used Halfords red plastic primer on this Ratio wagon, feel free to use it for comparison.
  4. I too was wondering that, what happens to the limited number of the runs then?
  5. Historical inaccuracies aside I thought that the movie was brilliant, certainly had me on the edge of my seat.
  6. Dunkirk 10/10

Same here, I'm going next week. Wonder if Cilian Murphy will be as good in it as he is in other stuff?

I don't know what reviews people are reading, but the ones I've read don't like it all that much!

  7. I love micro sol and micro set, I did use decalfix by Humbrol before, but these two are far superior in my personal opinion. Although I would not recommend micro matt, no matter what I do it just can't dry to a matt finish, the micro gloss however is quite good.
  8. Oh I see how it is, status update removed for no reason with no explanation.

  9. I know I've hit the "like" button annol but I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write up these updates, I know how tedious they can be, but I actually really enjoy reading what you've done and comparing it with the photos.
  10. Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply, I really appreciate it. Now I'm sorted!
  11. What a superb update and great news regarding the J72. Those Mk2 are just also incredible, it reminds me of European HO scale models with all the extra details and lights, brilliant.
  12. Sorry I totally forgot to mention, I am modelling in 4mm.
  13. Hello all, I have been trying for some time now to find chain that I can cut up and use for 3 link couplings. I have already sourced whitemetal and photo etch coupling hooks but cannot find the chain anywhere. I understand Slaters do packets of couplings and I have used them in the past, but they are fairly expensive in my eyes and I am also not too bothered about the springing. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks, Nelson
  14. For anyone wanting the GER livery and carriage http://www.steamworkshop.co.uk/portfolio/5-wisbech-and-upwell-tram/
  15. Hello everyone, Firstly thank you to Glover for your kind words above, much appreciated. I could waffle a bit about why it's taken me so long to do some actual modelling but that would be boring and quite repetitive I would assume, so instead looking to the positives I have just this evening completed this LNER Quint D Bogie Bolster wagon from Cambrian. And what a different experience it was! I have never until this kit ever made anything similar and I have to say the whole built was quite satisfying. I could have utilised some brass stanctions, brake gear etc... But decided not to and just go with the kits examples. I think it turned out quite well. I even managed to weigh down the thing quite well so it runs quite happily the way I want it to. Now I've just got to paint it and add 3 link couplings. Thanks, Nelson
  16. Hello CJL, Can I just say that it's amazing you guys have gone ahead with this project and I really look forward to it. However I will not be placing a pre order (sorry) until I see what the coreless motors are like, they are probably fine and I shouldn't be worrying, but at the end of the day I don't want something that I cannot run. What type of motor did the sentinel use? Thanks, Nelson
  17. I thought this may have been of some interest to readers of this thread. Hattons are selling two exquisite models, a GNRI "Long Tom" and full streamlined set. Nothing I can afford but pretty to look at haha. http://www.hattons.co.uk/283026/Golden_Age_Models_GA9Art_LN_LNER_Gresley_9_car_Articulated_Coach_Set_in_BR_crimson_and_cream_Only_10_produc/StockDetail.aspx http://www.hattons.co.uk/254229/Kitbuilt_KB479_KB_GNR_0_8_0_Long_Tom_401_in_GNR_Green_Pre_owned_professionally_built_from_unknow/StockDetail.aspx
  18. Hello all, I am looking to purchase a Honrby Folwer, only the recent made in China ones please. The livery, box and details don't matter, I a, really only looking for the chassis, so it must be a good runner. If anyone can help me, please let me know, thanks! Nelson
  19. Hello Kieran, I do apologise for not commenting but I have indeed been reading this thread quietly in the background and the work your doing is just superb, keep it going! Nelson
  20. Father has a Dacia Logan and he loves it, I on the other hand, do not... Must be the age gap or something lol. It's a good car but the interior to me is just noticeably cheap, and the suspension is nothing like our other car, a Jeep Patriot, the difference is visible when driving across fields etc.
  21. Hi Steve, can you expand on that please? For a start what does Gkn mean? And what does RH&Co stand for?
  22. Hello all, I never knew about this thread today until I googled it, some really nice pieces in people's collection and it's great to see. I have my own small collection of roughly 10 or so cast iron things, 3 lamps and some smaller pieces, the majority of them LMS NCC. I recently came across these two so cleaned them and father painted them. The GNR one is self explanatory however the other has me puzzled, it's obviously one half which is a pity, and the rail company intials are probably on the missing half, but I've been unable to identify makes intials, would anyone know what they stand for and approximately what year it would be? Thanks in advance, Nelson
