    Speaking the "F" word is one thing, considering the micro-seconds between brain and mouth, with no take-back facility. Printing it, having composed, typed, and read it; with a delete key in the top right of the keyboard, is another. PS. I can speak it with the best of them, writing it seems a whole lot different.

    Reading between your lines I think you may be implying some slight subterfuge on Ferrari's part, but I don't think they're like that, I'm sure they kept putting bags over the cockpit camera just to keep the dust out of it.

    Because I had a V4 micro at hand, and I don't have the financial wherewithal to buy new decoders at whim. On a different thread (glass throttles ringing a bell?) where you were listing the amount of ESU equipment you had purchased you made a comment "some of us have more money than sense". I agree. Unfortunately I am limited to only having the choice of sense over money.

    I bought a Webb 0-6-2 tank with one of these sockets, and removed it to fit a Loksound V4 micro decoder in its place. I made my own 6-pin plug and socket affair instead of hard wiring it in case I need to swap the decoder, or have the decoder reblown etc.

    I always thought it was quite a large and successful show, certainly judging by the number of cars there when I attended on Saturdays. Was it not so?

    The "glass throttles" have volume controls that works the speed as well, but if anyone wants to spend some £300 for an extra rotary knob then who am I to stand in their way.

    I don't see the point of the remote controller for hundreds of pounds. You can download a free app to however many phones and tablets you own for use as free remote controllers.

    I've just watched the video, the hair cutting scene was interesting to say the least. If this is your planned course of action I suggest you do it whilst Mrs DoctorP is asleep, and only from the back where she might not see.     I can spot the grumblers, just like I can spot those who don't read or understand posts properly; those who selectively use only parts of postings to suit their own agenda in the best traditions of politicians and journalists; those with humour bypasses; those who take sanctimony to a whole new level; and those who like arguing just for the sake of it. Don't think all my spottings are directed at you, they aren't. They are just observations, but feel free to have another pop if any of them rankle.

    If the option is there it almost seems wrong not to, even if the price is "sod all".

    Not sure, but I put an offer in on something and before I got a response someone put an opening bid in; which resulted in my offer being automatically refused and the option disappearing. Things should be either auction or buy it now, not a combination of the two.
