  2. Yes just had a TX bank account still smoking after the 37's I must say its a bit of a surprise being so quick behind the 37's never mind another loco to add to the fleet

  4. No I won't be buying one. Dave said that the Westerns were going to be the best I had 3 of them and not one of them were any good too many faults so I stuck to my Heljan ones and as for D6XX I have Silverfox models with Bachman motors.

  6. Yes that was D1054 I was told that D1015 was the back up engine. The 2 workings that I remember is D1052 on the salt train to Pontypridd and D1012 working an ECS from Treherbert to Canton off a Rugex in 1973 And also Westerns regularly visited Radyr working the Acton coal trains.   7. 2 Westerns in the Valleys from both tours D1023 Merthyr D1010 Pontypridd Feb 77 I was working both Sundays so in the right place the Ponty shunter Trevor Thomas is standing in the doorway of D1010 on the Up Goods running round. Cheers GARETH

  16. Yes the Western was D1032 Western Marksman on 28th December 1970 1Z03 Plymouth to Paddngton the working was for a Holiday Inn charter There's a photo in Bernard Mills book The 74 Westerns.
  17. Yes thats correct and the reason why they were assisted is because WR Management did'nt think the Blue Pullmans could handle the Devon banks and that's why the Western was provided.
  18. yes it does one photo but if you look at the front end shots of the green and dutch one it looks like they got class 31 handrails they curve outwards
  19. Couple photos on Tower site of the Locos in one of the photos the handrails in the cab door way don't look right to me What do you think? unless Brian could put us right. Cheers GARETH
