  1. Sorry to hear that, please could you check they are not loose in box somewhere as they are just a push fit into the bufferbeam. If not please return to your retailer.
  2. Except that would a) make the front face incorrect relative to the wheel tyre and b) the wheel is not that complex to need to be created in anything other than a single mold to be correct. [having been involved in the RTR production of BFB wheels before and quite recently as it happens....]
  3. Yep you are missing something, as are the large openings in the model wheels that should contain a web and not be see through (except for a small hole).
  4. LIke many locos, they had a number of official referenced names, nicknames and locally used names that varied between spotters, operating staff and design teams. 'Boost' / 'Boosters' is as referred to by A Raworth.
  5. They will be despatched to pre-orders well before Easter!
  6. To end the Swanage Railway Trust 563 Locomotive Group extraordinary year the project has been recently nominated for The Heritage Railway Associations' awards and the Steam Railway Magazine Award that is "voted by you, you the reader", The recognition is very much well deserved and you can now cast your vote online until the 18th January - here https://www.steamrailway.co.uk/read/hra-awards Thank you.

  11. Wow, a stunning addition to the already great layout , wonderful painting skills and fits in with the layout buildings so well!
  12. If you haven't done so already check out the excellent new and first TfL official Podcast "Mind the gap" presented by, yes of course, @timdunn available from wherever you get your podcasts, the first three episodes are available now and well worth a listen. https://link.chtbl.com/TfLMindTheGap
  13. For the uninitiated and those perhaps not doing adequate research this is what the Bulleid-Firth-Brown wheels on Bullied's leader actually looked like... (Picture taken and provided to me by the late John Click) Not as apparently will be fitted to the model... Note: I like many have one on order and paid for, it's just a shame adequate research or freely offered assistance has not been taken up.
  14. This is a common occurrence sometimes with many factory applied finishes (not just Hornby but also Bachmann etc.) when over painting directly with a top coat (including Precision and Halfords) to prevent this I always give a quick light dusting with Halfords plastic primer from a rattle can as this does not cause the reaction and acts as a good base for the top coat.
  15. A south coast theme with @SouthernRegionSteam wonderful Sandy Shores and my Canute Road Quay at The Model Railway clubs mini exhibition today.
  16. A couple of quick win projects, renumbering USA tank to 4326 as used by the SR at Southampton Docks and correcting Dapol's bufferbeam number mistake on B4 Jersey to 81. They may get seen on Canute Road Quay at The Model Railway Club's mini exhibition tomorrow https://southern-railway.com/2023/11/22/london-calling-canute-road-quay-to-appear-at-the-model-railway-clubs-10th-december-mini-exhibition/?amp
  17. Keep an eye out for the January 2024 issue of Railway Modeller magazine (out 14th December) I'm quite pleased how well the 'Project of the Month' article has come out.
  18. a *Reminder* London Calling... This Sunday, The Model Railway Club’s open day / mini exhibition at their London Keen House club rooms. More details here https://southern-railway.com/2023/11/22/london-calling-canute-road-quay-to-appear-at-the-model-railway-clubs-10th-december-mini-exhibition/
  19. Just to correct the record and some misconceptions... EFE Rail is not an "arm's length company" but simply a brand with Bachman Europe's portfolio. It is a channel for the distribution of products designed, produced and managed through 3rd parties and not in house and via Kader. As such it may utilise existing 3rd party tooling (by the way, and again to put the record straight, the KMRC Adams O2 and Gate stock did not sink "without trace after the initial production" as they had already had multiple production runs under the KMRC brand) or new tooling as we have already seen with the LSWR Cross Country sets, LSWR Covered vans and the SR Boosters. Whilst some of the releases have utilised tooling still owned by factories from now defunct business, in the case of the 14xx this tooling is as already stated in previous posts owned by Hattons and therefore it is their decision on any future use.
  20. Head code and or head signal lamps, as applicable are switchable all on / all off via DCC. Alternative headcode stencils or blinds for user fitting (from within the body) or a set of open or closed discs (fitted from the outside), as appropriate, are provided.
  21. You still can order one, our production allows for plenty of stock not just meeting pre-orders...
