Kernow Model Rail Centre have the same deal. Keep an eye on the 2mm Association as I believe they are looking to produce drop in wheel sets.

The Vacuum Hose was to the left of the hook on the buffer beam with the steam heat hose to the right and lower down (note the steam heat hose itself was often removed during the summer months). There should also be a steam heat hose on the tender rear as well. On the Hornby model the steam heat pipes were, I think, supplied as separate parts within the accessory bag from memory.

☆ SWAG Members Day- SUNDAY 28th APRIL 2024☆
Graham_Muz replied to NHY 581's topic in The Noble Realm of SWAG
That will probably be one of the CAKES then... I won't say which it might be so that everyone has to purchase and try them all... This is of course a veiled reminder that all CAKE donations on the day are gratefully received! -
Indeed good to see that Swindon could recognise such good locos...

USATC S100 tank - early 1940s as-built livery query
Graham_Muz replied to Mol_PMB's topic in UK Prototype Questions
Leigh, Thank you for your kind offer, I am pleased you have found my ramblings on my website useful. As it happens by trawling through the many sheets of various transfers I have acquired over time I found some numbers that I was happy with. -
864 was the first LN to gain the Bulleid 'standard' malachite scheme ex works 10th June 1939 and indeed have gilt style lettering and numerals, including at that time the 9" bufferbeam numbers (later painted locos had 6" numerals) The 'golden yellow' lettering replaced the 'Gilt' from September 1941. Eastleigh started painting cab fronts black from 1946 you would need to refer to pictures to see if she gained such when repainted after the war and before she gained experimental apple green in 1949.

In fact it was from 1st Jan 1913 that the K14s were officially known as the B4 class by the LSWR, so the K14 term was only officially used for just over 5 years.

Rails of Sheffield acquire Hattons name and product database
Graham_Muz replied to JohnR's topic in Rails of Sheffield
RoS already have already had their own exclusive models produced. There are many reasons why any retailer might fall out with any specific manufacturer at any time, or visa versa, you can believe any conspiracy theory you like / wish to pedal, but just having exclusive models produced is never a single or sole reason. -
Rails of Sheffield acquire Hattons name and product database
Graham_Muz replied to JohnR's topic in Rails of Sheffield
Pure unfounded speculation of course and could be applied to any business, what we do know is RoS have been explicit in stating " Rails have purchased the Hattons brand, not the business." -
Rails of Sheffield acquire Hattons name and product database
Graham_Muz replied to JohnR's topic in Rails of Sheffield
Except as clearly stated by RoS in their FAQ they have obtained the rights to the brand name and the website database but have not acquired the business, so will not be "a subsidiary of Rails" -
I never stated either the trunk or overseas postage cost were the only reasons or to blame for the demise (there were indeed many and not all yet fully in the public domain), but they are both additional costs to a business and practices that can not be simply be put in place / absorbed by other retailers.
-
Rails of Sheffield have only purchased the Hattons brand and website database, Hattons itself as an entity is no more, you need to read the actual statement from Rails of Sheffield in full rather than just the headline and make such unfounded ill informed speculation.
-
Oh yes introduce those costs in to a business rather than an overseas customer paying the true costs and see what happens... oh wait...

"CAKE" "CAKE" Did someone mention "Cake" thIs is the first of many reminders that the "upselling, arm twisting, I mean purveyors of hearty snacks and drinks team" welcome donations on the day of cakes of any style, size, chocolate, non chocolate or even vegetable... (yes vegetable based cake counts as one of your five a day...) to ensure everybody who attends goes home properly full of cake (as well of course admiration of all the other exhibits that make up this cake event). -
