  1. Yes you should receive an email as part of the despatch process.
  2. If you don't mind me asking, have you checked when running in the dark to check the interior lights are on, as they should be always on when on DC, as we have set the interior light level to a level that they are not too unrealistically bight (as many model lighting is far to bright).
  3. As we have already stated we have thousands to process and we will get to everyone's in due course.
  4. We avoid F2 for lights as on some DCC hand sets this is non latching and we get questions as to why we use F2!
  5. Thanks, yes despite my fingers burning every time I touch one, I do indeed know the product pretty well...
  6. Also the rebuilds were on wider chassis hence the triangular filet along the bottom edge of the bodyside. As someone apparently once said if you want to get there, I wouldn't start from here...
  7. As stated above it is already a good push fit, even PTFE tape will be too much additional width and once pushed in tight for normal use the chimney stays in happily place, handling of the packages during shipping may it appears potentially cause the chimney to be slightly loose on arrival.
  8. Nice video although I think tho Mike's comment was with respect to the Hornby Class 71 being previously discussed and not the SR Booster.
  9. Yes standard LSWR serif bufferbeam style.
  10. Looks to be a posed photograph with someone more senior than footplate crew , shunters or dockers.
  11. The chimney is a push fit as it fits into the top of the vertical boiler and rotates with it as per the real thing. As stated above this does need to be removed should you wish to take off the body, we would not recommend gluing it in, but if you are going to regularly remove the rail motor from your layout then perhaps using something like tacky wax or blutack might be better?
  12. Hi Rob, Whilst Jersey and Guernsey were not initially numbered when delivered to the Docks, when they returned back into LSWR working stock shortly after they were allocated the numbers 81 ans 176 respectively and the numbers were subsequently painted on the bufferbeams. The photograph I have seen of Guernsey taken as delivered (at the same time as Jersey) although black and white the tones would suggest light green rather then white lining. They did also get the lamp irons amended from sockets to fixed irons at some stage as well, so the Dapol is correct in these respect but not as first delivered. See this image of Guernsey in the 1936. PS Whilst 82 in LSWR lighty green passenger livery looks great I am yet to see evidence that they carried this livery instead of goods livery dark holly green.
  13. The chimney should have been already fitted!
  14. The A30 roadworks currently protect our top secret workshop and warehouse from certain marauders... they have now lost the bet as to which project was completed first, they are apparently now still hoping to possibly beat HS2 to completion.
  15. The preserved 93 is a bit of enigma, we were advised the project manager for 93 that the colour they used in the first place was slightly wrong and it has further 'faded' / 'aged' to purple (which is unusual for reds that usually bleach).
  16. I am not aware that Hornby yet produce a HM7000 Plux 22 decoder?
  17. For clarity each model comes with five printed destination boards that are specific to the allocation of each model running number at the time it was in that specific livery. The sound decoder fitted to the sound versions actually has all the destinations announcements recorded they can be user selected to function keys via CV value changes.
  18. As stated by KMRC earlier in this thread and on there website they are being despatched in payment date order.
  19. More are on the way hence them still being available to order online.
  20. Despite the recent two announcements the hobby is neither a "dying hobby" or a 'house of cards' many retailers with welcoming shops and a good online presence are still doing pretty well. Also many clubs have thriving junior sections, my own club the High Wycombe and District MRS had more new junior members than adults join last year, and I know The Model Railway Club in London is also doing great things with their Junior members with a dedicated Saturday meeting time for them. I am also aware of many other clubs that have strong junior sections that I have seen in evidence when exhibiting at various club shows etc. CRB checking is not necessary if the club, like the HWDMRS, operate a policy of juniors being accompanied by a parent or guardian, we tend to also find that the parent / guardian also gets involved in the club in some way, sometimes also taking up modelling but often other behind the scenes roles so is a bit of a win win.
  21. It's basic market segmentation, Hornby sell products across a number of market segments, and more than most other model railway manufacturers. These segments include juniors, train sets, more basic entry level models "Railroad", established modellers wanting high level of detail and accuracy (which is the segment that you and many on this forum are likely to be in), the railway collectors market and others such as licenced product including Coca Cola (now ended) and Beatles (many of whom are not actual railway modellers at all). Just because you are not interested in, or being aimed at with, other market segments it does not mean these products (often cheap to make with a good margin) are not selling, (as being within the retail trade I can assure you they do sell) and often are a bit of a 'cash cow' and are therefore potentially funding other market segments, so far from "gross misconduct" perhaps we should be thankful for them.
  22. But seriously... It is good to see that two items have been on prime time TV on both BBC and ITV showing the positive side of the hobby and that despite the recent two announcements the hobby is not a 'house of cards' many retailers with welcoming shops and a good online presence are still doing pretty well. Also many clubs have thriving junior sections, my own club the High Wycombe and District MRS had more new junior members than adults join last year, and I know The Model Railway Club in London is also doing great things with their Junior members with a dedicated Saturday meeting time for them.
  23. Terry, I hope you are ok? You post surprises me... You didn't mention your exhibition once within it... :)
  24. Except when you go on to say "I was interested that @Graham_Muz did not respond to my original post,"
