  1. Replica Railways also did a few versions in 1989 using the ex-mainline class 45 tooling. I think these may have had a better motor than the original production?
  2. Link to Kit's post with the APT carry case. https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/87114-the-official-rapido-apt-e-thread/&do=findComment&comment=4405302 Very nice job, sir!
  3. Yes they do look nice. You would hope the price will be as per the Bach 24 with one or two years of price inflation, but we shall see. The Heljan ones are no go for me due to the cab window slope being awry.
  4. That's Hornby doing its usual **** poor job, avoiding giving people what they actually want for years and years, while they do every damn silly one-off paint job imaginable. All the while, they miss out on repeat orders for standard blue and IC versions. They are still missing out on representing the first five years of WCML service from 1973 which would run very nicely with the Heljan 86/0, and the Bachmann 85, and might even help flog their own Mk2f rolling stock. You'd think there might be someone there who knows something - anything - about marketing, but clearly, they would rather spend their time trying to spike every other manufacturers’ guns, than getting on with doing their own job properly. It's pathetic.
  5. Prior to June 1964, 1E14 was 11:00 Glasgow Queen St. - King's Cross, "The Queen of Scots Pullman". ... (16:30 ex Leeds) Monday - Saturday, and diagrammed for a Deltic. On Sundays 1E14 was 15:23 Harrogate - King's Cross (15:25 ex Brad... ...16:02 ex Leeds) "The Harrogate Sunday Pullman", and also diagrammed for a Deltic. I think that might well be a Met-Cam pullman behind the loco.
  6. Don't think the website is working when I try and login - the reCaptcha tiles never appear.... Tried on two browsers.
  7. You beauties! Saves me the long-running dilemma of whether I can put up with the Hornby multi-era 'effort' at this prototype.
  8. I imagine that pesky Z dimension does take a lot of extra management.
  9. I'm in the send it back camp too - mine was faulty on arrival, and it went straight back for refund. If the price hadn't been jacked up twice, and the coaches didn't have massive capacitors in them, and if the couplings weren't deformed, and the build quality was better, and it had worked out of the box, I might have kept it...I suppose. But I'm not paying top dollar for a curate's egg, and I'm a lot happier with the cash back in my wallet. If I decide to spend it, it might go on the Rapido APT-E, or I might just possibly wait and see if the second run addresses some of the issues - though that is no doubt wishful thinking on my part.
  10. 010 kept the original style headlight through this period too.
  11. No sorry I don't. 86010 was another confirmed. There may be some others from the group fitted with MW before Nov 1977 - 86001/02*/08/10*/15/17/18/20*/25/33*/35/38
  12. Yes there were a few. MU fitting started in about 1976, and headocde panelling over around 1979. 86002, 86020, 86033 definitely did, there will be others. 86032 had blanking plates for MU fitting whilst retaining headcode
  13. Try TMC. I've returned all my APT cars there including a spare NDM. I tried on the ebay scalper hat, but it didn't fit me right.
  14. Well I've just got off the chat, and they've given me a one-time credit back. BUT, multiple listings are excluded from the offer.... it's not in the headline T&Cs, but buried somewhere in the detailed ones. So, now I know, and also how to contact them. Not bad after 15+ years on their platform. Thanks to those who responded.
  15. Thanks for input both. Yes I had accepted it, in fact I clicked on it twice, and the second time said I had already accepted the offer. Then I listed them. Those T&Cs look exactly the same as mine. I had two BIN listings (lots) with a number of the same thing to sell on each, with an offer to combine postage for multiple purchases. A buyer bought all of them (both lots), and I was then requested to send an invoice. The buyer then sent some funny messages about how it wouldn't let them request combined postage, and that they had to take one lot out of their basket for some reason, but all the time ebay maintained they had been sold, and I was waiting for payment. Then after the combined invoice was sent, with adjusted postage, their first attempt at payment didn't come through - not sure if they did or didn't complete it, and then the second attempt came through. I can't make out what has gone on - are single listings of many of the same thing excluded from the offer perhaps? Not as far as I can see in the T&Cs, but maybe I missed it. Did the buyer fumbling amount mean the first sale was cancelled, and therefore the offer lapsed? Maybe, but no messages were sent to that effect. All I've done is follow the process, submitted an invoice as requested and adjusted the postage accordingly.
  16. No it's not that, the T&Cs specifically mention lisings can be auction-style or fixed price. I checked beforehand.
  17. It was under a buy it now, with no auction option. Not heard of the 5-days thing before, if that is the case then I dont think I'll be bothering in future.
  18. How do you contact ebay about the fees they have charged on a recent sale? I accepted a 70% off VSF offer, listed some items which sold 3 days later - but have been charged the standard amount. There's no explanation or anywhere to check, as far as I can see, what terms the listing were made under. I'm a bit stumped as to what to do.
  19. Nicely put Edwardian. Oh Hornby, you silly people. Or rather one silly person, who should have known better. Reputational damage done, brand, personally, professionally. APT returned, faulty, no exchange required thank you. Rapido and Accurascale are getting my dough for the foreseeable.
  20. And another one of D5414 (again) on a Peterborough East - Leicester service in 1965, about to diverge onto the Oakham line. P
  21. I think these trains originated in Leicester, heading north initially via Melton Mowbray, then via Oakham and Ketton to Helpston Jn. Here's D5414 again, at Ketton on what is described as 2M59 Peterborough - Leicester.
  22. Another faulty one here - a 5-car set. Loose bits in the NDM packaging - a maroon pivot bearing, and a bit of sticky plastic. NDM looked ok though - no drooping bogies and driving wheels are meshed with the gears. So I ran it - half a circuit later, stopped with smoke pouring out. Also issues with NDM couplers being broken or badly formed - neither would snap together properly. Had to swap them over with spares to get the set together. In two minds whether to get a replacement NDM, or ship the whole lot back to the shop, including last years coaches. The quality is not what I expected at this price point.
  23. The only Bachmann FOs were the non centre door types of which only 3 were ever manufactured - a decidedly odd choice. Bachmann have also done at least one FK in Intercity Livery, but with a grey roof.
