Johnster, if you do succeed in getting that nice Mr Franks to make some I’m up for at least three sets!
Tim T,
Modelling Cwm Cynon in EM(when we’ve moved to South Wales)
Just found this thread and it brings back memories! I was born in Bradford but we moved to Tees-side when I was five. We used to travel back to visit my mother’s family, always by train. For some reason my mother would not use Forster Square so we had to dash between City and Central stations in Leeds to get one that arrived at Exchange!

Well, Johnster, your wait is nearly over!
The Bachmann 94XX appears in the May issue of Hornby Magazine. It looks good but at £125.00 a pop I think that I will stick with my rechassis-ed Lima and Wills ones!

For us retired ex railwaymen blu-tack is probably cheaper, and it works with non-magnetic items?

Johnster, can I echo Nick’s comment about not ordering from Coopercraft. That crook did me out of £40.

As I now know, thanks to Miss Prism of this parish, on non corridor coaches it refers to the roof mounted ventilators!
These are not mounted centrally but offset to one side. By “handing” them you could assemble a set of coaches with all the ventilators in a line and still have the brake compartments at the outer ends and the first class compartments together in the middle.

Due to impending downsiing to a much smaller property I have 59 copies of Canadian Raway Modeller that I don’t wantto simply throw away. They are currently in Calne in Wiltshire. They weigh 7.5kg! PM me if you would like them

Sorry for the delay in replying to this, we are preparing to relocate to Swansea!
The only 1940’s photos are of 7805, 7806, 7807, 7808, 7811, 7814, 7817, 7818 & 7819, none of 7804 in that period.

For anyone interested in Manor class locos the book below is essential reading IMHO. It includes a couple of photos of the Port-to-port train as well

Yes, folks, the buffer height will have to be corrected as I use AJ couplings.
Alan Gibson do the correct size driving wheel but I am investigating using under sized ones to correct the buffer height. Watch this space

Apologies if this appears elswhere but the search facility didn’t come up with any answers
I have an old Triang Dean Single that I wish to convert into a representation of #3049, Nelson. The bodywork is not the problem. The awkward bit is that it will have to be covertec to EM!
Has anyone on here actually done such a change of gauge, if so how did you do it?
TIA

Now that description can apply to the majority of those at an exhibition...........
(apart from myself since my medication caused me to lose 4 stones very quickly - a complete new wardrobe!)
