  1. Its an anomalous scale / gauge combination - but looks very good! Not sure about other curves in the Bernina line but the Brusio spiral ranges between 50m and 70m radious - so at 150 scale, between 33 and 46 mm - certainly, I would not be surprised if the Alp Glum curve was less than that. Stock on the Bernina Line is generally shorter than elsewhere on RhB to allow for that situation. Stock is a bit constrained by the unusual scale/gauge combination but between Kato and MDS there is a growing range.
  2. Cannot answer the question - but lot more detail and info here that may help. They do not list any UK suppliers on their website but you can buy direct from them in Spain.
  3. Do you have a multi meter with a continuity test function? Very helpful in tracing shorts. Disconnect the DCC command station and simply check for continuity between the 2 rails. If there is continuity - you have a short. By process of elimination, you should be able to track it down. A common error - I know, I have made it - is to have one pair of droppers in opposite "polarity" to the others or miss an isolating fishplate from a live frog point. Good advice - resolve one thing at a time or confusion reigns.
  4. Your local sign making company should be able to knock these out quite readily - same process for them as creating an advertising sandwich board. Using that sort of external grade material, no obvious need to put acrylic sheet on the front of it I would have thought.

Reports from Swiss forums that a regional train pulled by Ge 4/4 I 602 has hit a landslide near Ilanz. No injuries but 602 plus first coach have derailed.
  6. I will have a look and see if I can find any bridge drawings for you - not the greatest picture - but shows you are on the right tracks. Richmond is to the left and to the right, the coal drops are to the far side of the bridge.

They seem to be following the plan they laid out in the Feb 19 article in "Todays Railways" by Toma Bacic which is ultimately leading to a half hour regular interval timetable through infrastructure and stock improvements.
  8. Not encountered that - were you using model colour (brush paint) or model air (airbrush)?
  9. Vallejo are my brand of choice. UK railway bauxite as I understand has many permutations! Where you have a specific RAL number for a colour, this site is helpful - https://www.modelshade.com/paint-conversion-chart/ral/ So - using "Oxide Red" as a starter - Vallejo 71.105 "Brown Rlm" looks close.
  10. You can sort of get them to spray but only with some nozzles on the Aztec airbrush and as @Nearholmer said, they have very different chemical properties. They sort of run back together and either fill scored lines or create blobs over raised detail. They coalesce over detail with thick patches and leave very thin almost translucent areas between Just seem all wrong for model railway purposes. http://www.thecombatcompany.com/categories/vallejo/model-air/paints.html maybe?
  11. Couple of thoughts and couple of files - You don't need to limit your search to N gauge as you should be able to rescale any downloaded file on your printer to what you want. e.g. HO (87) to one of the N variants (150) means print at 58%. You need to check in your slicing software that you have not lost too much wall thickness and may have edit using a package such as Tinkercad. Using Tinkercad (or similar) you could put together a number of the items you mention yourself after a couple of tutorials and that might let you make items customised to your needs which after all is one of the advantages of self printing. https://www.tinkercad.com/#/dashboard Also worth thinking - is 3D print the best tool / material for the job? e.g. Maybe platforms from wood/card but faced with printed items are both simpler and more economical? Some files attached, scaled to HO for you to play with to fence things in. scale box.stl handrails.stl 30 and 45 degree picket fence.stl Picket fence.stl
  12. A different approach would be to use servo motors for both signals and points. I have an analogue layout with mimic board and use stud and wander lead rather than toggle switches but to same effect with section switches and LED's showing track power. I have used the ESU Servo pilot controllers which run 4 servos each and they run happily on 12v. They have pins to hard wire for analogue operation and the control for start point, end point and speed of sweep is built into the controller with push buttons. In my case the servos are mounted under the board and have an 8mm hole under the point centred on the mid point of the tie. The servo is held by a bracket and actuator extended with stiff wire into the tie bar. There are variants of the brackets with micro switch options for frog polarity switching if that was a feature you wanted and could be used with a feed back to your mimic board to show the routes. It would be equally possible to mount them above board concealed in a structure and use wire in tube to actuate. If at some point you wanted to convert these to DCC, just plug in your command station and assign a number to each point. http://www.esu.eu/en/products/former-products/switchpilot-servo/
  13. An alternative solution might be to cover the words with modern station boards. I know there is normally only one centrally positioned on the building but they might have made 2 for this one? Could try with a couple of dummy ones and blu tac to see how it looked.

  15. Sort of - but its possible that your version of 9B2 has been incorrectly configured for that dongle. Both the software and dongle could be working individually - just not correctly integrated. Not much help in resolving you problem but offers another explanation about what is happening. Did you know - dongles like this are probably covered for accidental damage on you contents insurance policy should anything bad happen to it.
  16. As an alternative, have you considered ABS cable trunking? Comes in many sizes and you could just cut to length as required.
  17. You will need to develop skills and technique to a standard the Editor can use - not sure exactly where you are but something like this would be a good grounding - https://www.shipley.ac.uk/courses/categories/digital-photography-and-adobe-photoshop/part-time/
  18. This is a double edge problem as it depends on Microsoft continuing to support the dongle key on a USB stick. Some legacy software fell foul of this problem a few upgrades ago and even now, HASP software can have problems with Microsoft updates. They are usually fixable but if Mr F decided it was too much trouble to upgrade (a security patch or send everyone a replacement dongle???) then you would be in the position of ???? Will continue to work fine until it stops. I felt it was too risky a proposition for my needs.

  22. Set CV8 = 8 performs a reset to default values. The default values should include the sound project. See P55 of the attached. 51972_LokSound_V40_ESUKG_EN_User-Manual_Edition_2_eBook_02.pdf
  23. I have a couple of Bemo G6/6 locos that have twin motors had had the same conundrum. Eventually I tried one of the LAIS decoders with 2A max and 1A continuous. (860012 from CM3 Models). Felt at the price, was worth a go. Its been perfect and fitted the second loco with the same and had no problems. Used them on a few others with minimal issues. I know lots of folk seem to have issues with this brand but TBH for basic functions they seem perfectly adequate and my experience - so far - less failures with these than Zimo and Gaugemaster.
