  1. MERG kit DCC 53 should do the job assuming you are a member and comfortable with construction.
  2. Other side of the same question - why would you want to?
  3. Does sound as if the locos were not programmed, this is a copy of the Bachmann instructions - did you manage to follow these? Using Service Track [MENU] -- scroll to PROGRAM [ACCEPT] -- scroll to WRITE ADDR 0003 ON SERVICETRACK [ACCEPT] Screen shows WRITE ADDR LOC WRITE ADDR 3 [BKSP] to delete existing address Use alphanumeric keys or joystick to enter new address of up to 4 digits CHANGE ADDR 0003 WRITE ADDR 4468 Press [PROG] to write the new address Both decoder and roster database are updated. All the best
  4. Happy to try and help but not clear what you mean - There is nothing to program on the hand set - can you clarify? How did you program it and what number did you allocate? Was this programmed same way as the first and what number did you allocate? How did you do that? Different decoders have different methods, you need to know the decoder manufacturer to know how to reset them.
  5. Might work out toned down with paint, if you can get your hands on some, these would fit the bill - Faller 272404 N Scale - IRON RAILING. Really enjoying watching you progress - thanks for taking the time to share.
  6. Just a suggestion as I have found that Word does apply some compression to the image and looses resolution. Just stick with Paint. Go to "properties" and select inches or centimetres as the scale. I use centimetres and set the paint area to the exact size required for the model but 10X the required size. When you are all done, go direct to print from Paint - but print at 10% of the original..... You can paste in a number of images across the top of an A4 sheet for the final print job to save on material.
  7. I will give it a go later, have a long job running at the moment. Mental origami with 3d printing - often better to print buildings upside down (FDM) and take the support material off the roof, shell of the building will be hollow.
  8. Agree - thats why you need to be looked up. Valid for ESU, TCS, LAIS
  9. Usually CV 54 and 55 which are the load control parameters. Range of values depend on the decoder manufacturer, need to look up their CV table first. Read what is there and change by about 5 and then fine tune. If the decoders are Lais I would caution against changing them as I had an issue, there seems to be a software glitch that others have encountered as well in that these CV's can mess up the acceleration curves.
  10. Depends on what you consider safe and secure - as we have previously discussed - as soon as a purchaser has your STL file they can modify it in any way they choose.
  11. Cults 3D has a mix of free and paid files available. https://cults3d.com/en/guides/best-STL-files This one is quite nice - https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/architecture/haverthwaite-station-cumbria
  12. This might do the job https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-A3-TENDER-MOTOR-DRIVE-UNIT-CHASSIS-UNUSED-4472-60103-A3-OTHERS-VGC/353069786872?hash=item52349966f8:g:b~sAAOSwH3NXnxQo
  13. Since you are at the design stage, run pairs of wires from each side of the DPDT to lights above your controllers so that there is a visual indication above each as to which is live.
  14. Interesting project, think I will have a go out of interest. I have sliced it with Cura with 0.4mm nozzle with 0.06 layer height. Intention would be to print it in dark wood PLA to layer 14 then change filament to silver for the chairs.
  15. Its OK - very basic and the sequence programming function is all based round time intervals which I found to be of little value. Performance of a schedule would vary depending on how freely the loco was running which can change over a running session as things get warmed up - and chaos ensues if the track got a bit dirty. Also not so keen that it is registered to a single device by license key and you don't have any back up. Need to contact Bachmann support to re-register it to another device. Relevant to me as I was using it on an exhibition layout and I did not like the idea that a failure on the laptop could only be solved if Bachmann were available - not very likely on a Sunday morning. It was an interesting experiment and if you are just looking for a nice panel, basic controls for locos and accessories, its OK, anything more and you will find it lacking. At the end I parked that software and opted for RocRail which I find very good. As the Dynamis Ultima is a re-badged ESU Navigator, its fully supported by RocRail. You need a bit of IT knowledge or persistence to set it up but so far I cannot fault it. The software package itself is free. As an extra, I have paid the 12euro per year subscription for the web enabled component and can happily use it on wireless tablet and mobile phone. It also lets me run external commands from buttons on the panel, sound effects to bluetooth speakers etc.
  16. Operator 2 should simply call up the loco address, see it with zero speed and give it whatever instruction is appropriate. If operator one left it moving, that it should show up on controller 2 when the loco address was interrogated.
  17. Be very careful - they do not swivel. Maybe a section of 1mm shrink wrap just slid over them - not heated, just loose, but I would be worried that they are quite brittle mouldings.

Managed an hour in the garden this evening
  19. Lateral thinking - you need an LED projector with a nice image to throw onto it - change it with the seasons! Ultimate backscene
  20. Sadly the Thirsk exhibition scheduled for 26th July has now been formally cancelled. We had held off making a decision until after the government announcements at the weekend but these have made it clear it would be impractical for us to continue. No alternative date, we will try again in July 2021!
  21. One will do but as explained, two are better. Never found that necessary and cannot really understand the rational given the close proximity and lack of twist in Cat5 network cables which carry complex signals without problem. I run the bus to terminal blocks and take groups of droppers from those. Sorry - Cannot help with that. ESU Servo Pilots work very well and are simple to use if you go the servo route.
  22. Wonder how hard that would be to replicate with some heavy photo paper or similar, printer and a rock face image......
  23. Quite right - was my misunderstanding and apologies for anyone I misled . I went and had a look and play about last night and was about to post a correction when your note appeared. I was looking only at the IR reciever extender above the command station. Fortunately the Ultima incorporates the functionality of the Pro Box and more with the USB connection and interface but sacrifices the memory for the loco roster - down from 40 to 30 locos in memory. Thanks for correcting this.
  24. Excellent work Paul - The RhB has come out extremely well despite your concerns. If you are making further decals here are some interesting RGB combinations to try - Put these codes into Word (Font colour; more colour; click on Custom Tab then enter codes) Gold: Red=192, Green=168, Blue=104 Deeper Gold: Red=165, Green=138, Blue=82 Silver: Red=151, Green=151, Blue=168 Copper: Red=205, Green=115, Blue=0 And further variations round these numbers to tune to match.
