  6. Hi Rob. Thanks for posting these pictures. The 20's were allocated from new to Thornaby in May 1967 and were reallocated to Dairycoates in April 1968, D8315 joined them from Thornaby in May 68. I saw them all on my only visit to Dairycoates in January 1969. According to my notes i saw D8314 shunting Bridlington Goods yard on the 1/9/1970 and D8313 two days later. I remember taking a photo of one of them shunting the yard in the early 70's which was by then i believe a Tinsley engine. Regards. Graham

A great actor and one who will be sadly missed. If you've never seen him in Truly Madly with Juliet Stevenson they perform superbly together.

  9. Love the pictures of York. Think the hoppers wagons behind D8308 carried sand down the Foss Islands branch for the glassworks.

  13. I had the video, long gone. Seem to recall it was 2151, i'm sure there's some footage on RM Web. D2113 always seemed to be station pilot at Scarborough in the early 70's

British Gas went through a phase of this some years ago, to be fair we did live in a flat with the meter inside, nonetheless the tone of the letter was atrocious. An independent meter reader told us a bit later that they'd lost loads of customers as a result of similar letters, and that really it was just an excuse to do a meter reading. I rang BG up and told them if they ever sent another one like that we'd dump them, and then made an appointment for a visit. Just some pushy git of a...
