  8. For some reason my text didn't show probably something I did wrong. I wanted to ask if the n.e.r. transfers were the early shaded type as I have a couple of wagons to finish. Nobody seems to do the shaded versions Steve
  9. I have just spent two hours reading through this thread. DISGRACEFUL how dare you build a model railway so stunning and accomplished that it makes a mere mortal wonder if I should chuck everything in the bin and take to sitting in the corner crying over my oh so obvious shortcomings. To be serious your layout is the best I have seen inc pendon I bow to your skill sir All the best for your future endeavours. Steve

  11. Very nice layout full of atmosphere to a high standard. Is the bulldog a kit? I have the same loco. Mine was part k's kit (tender, front bogie, chimney safety vales) the rest scratchbuilt. I have a mallard bulldog unbuilt no instructions tho. All the best Steve
  12. Thanks 57xx a little wiser now as I say we never stop learning. Thanks again Steve
  13. Pardon my ignorance chaps but what is a loans act shed and did other railways have them? I have never heard the term before,I guess we never stop learning do we. All the best Steve
  14. Having built a fair few white metal kits I found the majority of them have a little flash to deal with. It's unavoidable due lots of reasons, feed pips, moulds to hot/cold,pressure holding mould halves together, metal temp/cleanliness and type of casting machine used. So I think you should always expect a small amount of flash/mould lines. Steve
  15. Did Wills Fine cast produce a Scott Atlantic way back or am I confused? Steve
  16. Just a thought, does or did anyone do a kit for the E class LNWR 2-8-0? Bit of an ugly beast at the front end but their is something about it Steve
  17. Sorry all something went wrong!! I was going to ask Penlan if M&L did a coal engine or a cauliflower goods? My memory ain't what it was. Pete Waterman was also involved with Hayle Developments they did detail bits for for GWR syphons (I think) memory again
  18. Just read the thread. Did the baseboards come wrapped in the nice rug? I can see this will be another charming cameo layout, keep up the good work old chap I will follow with interest. Steve
  19. Love it!! Great job of an unusual loco l. I want one or at least drawings to scratch build one. Soooo envious!! All the best and I can't wait to see what you build next Steve
  20. Good kits for their day I built several. Ron did twin kits I think one was GWR Buffalo and 517. They were sold principally in Barry Jones shop in Sewell Highway Coventry. With a little after market bits they should still give good results. Steve
