  1. Numbers added and installed above the storage roads. Cheers Darius
  2. A couple of years ago I was heading home to Worthing from Chippenham via London. The FGW HST has pulled in to Reading but was waiting there an awfully long time. This was because a derailment outside Paddington had closed the station Andy nothing was heading into London. Before the announcement was over I was out and rushing to the SW lines platform and jumped on an (at the time) empty train that was heading to Waterloo via Clapham Junction. I had a seat but in no time at all the train was full to heaving. The train was a stopper and I still recall the look of horror on the faces of the homeward bound race goers with their suits and tails and hats and high heels (that was just the blokes) as this rammed train pulled in. Somehow they got on clutching their champagne glasses in one hand and high heels in the other. It was almost enough to make you feel sorry for them. I got home eventually - with hindsight I should have jumped on the Gatwick via Guildford train at Reading but once the train was full ther was no getting off. Cheers D
  3. Hi Tony, I scribed my own bricks onto 1mm thick plasticard inserts using an Olfa P-cutter. Cheers Darius
  4. Hello Bill, Nice to see you on here too Cheers Darius
  5. I did try that but the buffer didn’t seem to want to come out so, not wanting to break it, I decided discretion was the better part of valour. It turned out all right in the end Cheers Darius
  6. A nice big box arrived today from Rails of Sheffield containing various Bachmann B/G Mk2fs, including the DBSO. The buffer beam detailing bits are tricky to install - the holes for the hoses need to be enlarged for the hoses to fit as, if you don’t, the locating tab on the hose snaps off. This is often the case with many manufacturers as no allowance for the paint thickness on the hose part or any moulding tolerance is made. The orange part above the RH buffet is almost impossible to fit - in the end I cut off the locating tab on the part and glued it in place with a small dab of superglue applied with the end of a toothpick. The holes in the underside of the buffer beam also need to be enlarged for the detail parts to fit. This lack of attention to detail on Bachman’s part aside, this is a superb model and I am really pleased with it. Looking forward to the Scotrail liveried version. Cheers Darius
  7. Hi, According to Google Images, Hornby R4619 is a MK1 Maroon BG and R4811 is a Mk2e BSO in Intercity livery. Horny R4618 is a Mk2e BSO in Intercity livery and, if this is the coach that you meant and they are both Mk2e variants, then they are most likely to be the same model. R4811 is a later re-issue and, being later, has the higher price. Cheers Darius
  8. Installed some loco and short train storage sidings at the loop end this weekend. Also built some “covers” for the timber wiring “bridges” over the main storage tracks. These will hide the wiring looms and also have track numbers applied to the sides using model aircraft serial number decals. They were built from 1mm plasticard and painted with Halfords “Nissan Red”. Cheers Darius
  9. A couple more brick wagons refurbished Cheers Darius
  10. Triang luggage van with some modifications Cheers Darius
  11. Looks like the N gauge AL6. Darius
  12. I have taken my inspiration from Promethus - post #28 on this thread:- http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/93750-tri-ang-bogie-brick-wagon/page-2 Cheers Darius
  13. Thanks Martyn, I am really enjoying this project. Now working on a Triang SR Utility Van and some “London Brick” wagons. The latter will be modified into ex LNER livery with some ModelMaster decals and have a scratch built brick load. Cheers Darius
  14. Finished rake of coaches on the layout today. Cheers Darius
  15. My friend Mark and I will be there today - looking forward to it Cheers Darius
  16. If the seller states twice in the listing that the coach does not come with a box how can this be a sharp practice? Granted there is a box in the photo but if a buyer can’t be asked to read the listing then they can’t really complain. I don’t think this is one for the FBI or Interpol. Darius
  17. BG completed. Cheers Darius PS. Apart from the steps.
  18. So... It might be one of Lima’s HO scale Class 33s. It has odd shaped BR logos and strange font numbers. No flush glazing Wrong buffers and no buffer detailing. Weathered with red brown paint including the chunky tension locks. All for the price for which you might get a second hand Heljan one. Unique indeed. Darius
  19. Oops, my bad. A BSK is indeed on the way. BG may follow. Cheers Darius
