  1. That's as sweeping a generalisation as what the media are accused of. I've known fantastic people and low-lifes; the same as many careers. Many local news sites run stories on "where you can see such-and-such and when" so it's not derisory. Generally the casual visitor, as on heritage railways, isn't the problem; it's the entitled enthusiast.
  2. I'm down for that one too but it'll have an Earl of Dudley conversion so I could always fall back to an alternative.
  3. Castlenau Group was formed by Phoenix Asset Management as a separate investment management arm.
  4. That may be a stretch; it sounds like, through choice, she's moved to pastures new. Good luck to her; she's been an asset to the business and would have been a great public face for the business into the future.
  5. My print copy has landed and it feels fat! Yes, the page count has gone up so there's more content.
  6. Harecastle tunnel still spews orange due to an iron vein so that's comparatively uncommon. Green blue was common around the Black Country in localised patches but a thick brown is probably the best average of grot. Do some tests over different colours on some scrap card as the PVA and varnish can change the end result.
  7. It simply can't be given the axle position.
  8. @woodenhead - you didn't cover that did you? 😁 https://www.just-one-liners.com/if-you-make-something-idiot-proof-the-world-will-create-a-better-idiot/
  9. The Vintage Classics range is quite popular with stockists from Arundel to Aberdeen.
  10. They're doing NER greens at the moment. They should be done in 5 months before moving onto shades of Heljan BR Blue; a major project expected to be complete by 2026.
  11. From my tests of AI in such a context it's far too touchy-feely and the 'moderatee' may feel as though they were right all along and that their input is of the highest value. It all started with "Your call is important to us".
  12. Some days it's a losing battle; "you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"
  13. Not in the mood for idiots today. OP question now answered; topic locked.
  14. My contact advises that it's on show by the turntable in the Great Hall at the moment.
  15. What factual information do you have to back this up? The OP is seeking information, not people's opinions.
  16. Maybe they'd rather tell wider railway stories, at least on a national basis and even international rather than anything too parochial.
  17. They've been at Locomotion for years. Noticed that redevelopment is underway? No, it's easier to moan on the internet than check information.
  18. The best thing to do Les is to upload to YouTube and post the URL or share link here.
  19. Don't be so naive. it's a personal and defamatory attack from a buffoon. In the context of you posting it here you are publicising his defamatory content hence the demand not to post it. A sensible response would have been to apologise for unwittingly posting such content. If you wish to stand by it I may take further action.
  20. The new issue of BRM is now out on Pocketmags and on Exact Editions for our Gold / World of Railways Plus members. Over the last few months the magazine has been evolving with some different approaches to the key areas. Layouts This month we feature a magnificent County Donegal Railway scene in 10mm/ft scale from Chris Romain with some superb imagery by Jamie Warne. Weaver Hill by Benjamin and Richard Brady in OO. Phil went narrow gauge with Richard Holmes' OO9 scene. Visitors to Doncaster may have seen Roland Wood's refreshing of an N gauge tailchaser. Digital readers also get a look back at three more layouts too and additional pictures for the four main layouts. Practical pages get a makeover as seen in this screenshot of Jesse Sim's whiff of fish. We tweaked the review pages a few months ago to give more information in a concise form. Prototype - the whiff of fish lingers in an interesting article from Ian Lamb too. The Community pages bring together submissions by readers and this month points readers to some of RMweb's best content. There are many more little tweaks mixed in with it but I think Debbie and Ruth have done a grand job in giving the pages a lift and we'd like to hear your thoughts. BRM August will be in shops next week and individual issues, subscriptions and Pocketmags edition can be bought here - https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/information/3-easy-ways-to-buy-brm?openPageId=b752a321-a998-4d8c-98e5-dabf827d9abc Get the digital issue every month as a World of Railways Plus member here - https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/store/membership-subscriptions This month digital customers also get June's Garden Rail bundled in too.
  21. We know centenaries can be an elastic concept.
