  1. Hi All, Resurrecting this thread as the original information mentioned a Q3 2023 launch. I realise we have only just entered this period, but has anyone had any updates? Having visited the Dapol website, I can not see any information. Looking forward to your feedback.
  2. Hi All, Here is the latest Rapido model of the GWR Toad brake van in ‘Engineers yellow’. It is TOPs code ZXO & numbered No. DW17244. The Toad brake van was produced by GWR up until the 1950’s and this particular variant (Dia AA20) was introduced in 1934, many of these lasting into preservation. In 00 gauge, other manufacturers have tackled this subject before but this latest incarnation boasts several ‘top notch’ features including: Fully glazed model. Detailed interior. Disc wheels. NEM coupling pockets. This brake van also has a detachable roof enabling further enhancing inside the cabin of the wagon if the purchaser so desires. The method attaching the roof is via 4 small magnets. It is a neat arrangement. Looking at Paul Bartlett’s excellent site shows this Toad was still in active service in 1988. This model would be ideal at the end of an engineering train or parked up in a siding. All that is left to do is some tasteful weathering to tone down the bright paintwork. Highly recommended.
  3. Hi All, Given time, I would surprised if a 2 pack (driver & dummy car) are not produced. After all, it would be a shame not to use that tooling again & Locomotion Models/NRM are famed for different types of re-releases of the same/similar stock. Tricky bit for Bachmann currently, could be the MK3 coaches unless there is some further development being undertaken here as well….. I guess we will have to wait & see.
  4. Hi All, Looking at the Hornby MK1 ballast cleaner staff coaches in olive livery (R40006, 7 & 8). Would these of run together or used individually on specific trains. I have visited Paul Bartlett’s excellent site but this just shows images of the individual coaches. There is also some great information above about the various wagon types but I can not see an answer to this question. Looking forward to your responses & of course any photographic evidence would be great to see as well.
  5. Hi All, I picked up the latest edition this weekend. Another excellent publication. The reference images & modelling projects provide great inspiration. Keep up the great work! Well recommended.
  6. Hi All, Hornby have a couple of MK2F coaches in the colourful Loram livery & I am curious to know how accurate these are….. Are they simply ‘representations’ or prototypically correct. Hornby items Nos are R40143 (for the TSO) & R40144 (for the BSO). I look forward to your feedback.
  7. Hi All, As many have said above, SK will be sorely missed at Hornby. His enthusiasm & passion for the hobby was truly outstanding. All the best for the future & thank you.
  8. Hi All, I see there are some EFE PRA 00 gauge wagons listed in the Summer announcements. Some ‘early’ & some ‘late’ variants are listed all under era 8. Tempted with getting some of these as I missed out on the Kernow limited editions…… What do current owners think of these wagons?
  9. Hi All, Following on from the most recent posts I have attached a couple of images that I took at Eastleigh last Spring. Hope they are useful.
  10. Hi All, Having purchased a few of these IWA cargowaggons they were crying out for some weathering. Here is the result…. Enjoy.
  11. Hi All (& especially SHerr), If you are looking for Cavalex BBA Trains4U appear to have these in bauxite & weathered brown liveries. Collets, KMS and RoS are showing the BLA in Railfreight livery if that helps. Aside from that, try John Dutfield in Chelmsford as their web presence is quite minimal so a phone call would be best. Failing that keep your eyes out on EBay. Good luck.
  12. Hi All, Firstly many congratulations to Accurascale for the recognition & awards. This is reflection on you all, your Company & your excellent products. As said before, keep doing what you are doing.
  13. Hi All, I see Heljan have introduced some new versions of their class 07. I am particularly interested in ‘army’ olive green variant (2938). What feedback do owners of these models concerning both the running qualities & the fidelity of the model. I look forward to your responses.
  14. Hi All, Picked up my copy over the weekend. Another excellent publication with great reference material and an ideal source of information. Well done Simon & team.
  15. Hi All, Great news for Accurascale. Richard’s style with his video’s (both professionally & personally) is very personable but with clearly knowing his subject matter. All the best in your new role Richard.
  16. Hi All, I picked up the Satlink ZJX version yesterday & I have to say I am very impressed. The packaging, the paintwork, the finish, the sliding doors, the interior, the under frame, the couplings. All superb. Speaking to Rapido, they advised that although pre-sales were ‘okay’, these have been flying of the shelves at retailers. A fact confirmed to me by one of my local model shops. So, if you are interested in these, I would suggest to get these while you can as these won’t be around for long….
  17. Hi All, I am looking for some clarification. Did the first batch of Deltics come supplied with etched nameplates? And will the second batch? Thanks in advance.
  18. Hi All, I have succumbed…. Although slightly out of my modelling timeline, I have decided to invoke ‘Rule 1’. Having seem all the ‘hype’ on the first batch (& justifiably too), I was looking for a particular version that was omitted first time around. The internet crackled into life…. An email tumbled into my inbox…. A communication from Accurascale about another run of their Deltics. Would I be lucky? Oh yes, oh yes… I have ordered the sound fitted variant. ‘What model?’ I hear you ask. Royal Scots Grey. I am really looking forward to receiving this next year.
  19. Hi All, Give us a ‘Y’, Give us an ‘E’, Give us a ‘O’….. Yesterday I collected my DCC fitted class 59 in the original Yeoman livery & very impressed I am with it too. The loco has an substantial weight to it & looks and runs superbly. If you are considering getting one of these, I would strongly recommend. Get ‘em while you can!
  20. Hi All, I have the sound fitted class 90 in RES livery & have to say it is absolutely superb. My loco has been subtly weathered to tone down the bright paintwork. I would strongly recommend this loco & would suggest to shop around as there as some good deals about from the likes of TMC etc.
  21. Hi All, And while you are at it Gentlemen @ Accurascale, a model of ‘Royal Scots Grey’ in two tone green with full yellow ends as in the late 1990’s would be fantastic. Pretty please……
  22. Hi All, Reference speculation for Hornby new releases for 2023, how about the Mk 1 coaches in inter city ‘swallow’ livery complete with white roofs? These we’re used on charters in the 1980’s & 1990’s IIRC. A brake composite corridor coach was introduced earlier this year (R40020) but no other stock in a matching livery have since been announced. With their range of Mk 1 carriage types available now, hopefully we can expect some other variants….
  23. Hi All, Compliments of the season to you all. I have yet to receive my Yeoman class 59 so can not comment from an ‘in the flesh’ perspective. What do owners of the National Power & ARC variants think of the main body colours. I (& am sure others), would be interested to hear.
  24. Hi All, I picked up a couple of packs of the Cargowaggon variants at Warley & wow. These really are fantastic looking wagons. Just need a bit of weathering. Now where is my airbrush……
  25. Hi All, This is available now. I managed to get my copy from a local Tesco’s. Another excellent read with some inspirational images.
