  4. Personally I'd like a model of 144017. It would have to be in an earlier livery to be the 2 car unit. Before the 3rd cars were built :)
  5. Glad to see the 142s up for pre order. Now just to wait for the 144s again. :)

  10. A shame to see I've lost all the photos of the layout. I guess I'll have to take new ones as I deleted images after uploading them 😥
  11. We are holding another triple special on the 19th of March for the Crowle Peatland Railway (CPR). They have some spaces, the cost is £20 per person and a donation to CPR would be appreciated. To book a place please contact Angus at CPR on angus@townley.com https://fb.me/e/1i84reAw3
  12. I finally got to re rigging the Lighting inside the Plumtree works mill building B. Building A was rigged correctly from the start but building B had lights all weaved in the rafters, these have now been positioned above and below the raised walkways, inside the control room and under the soaking pit giving the glowing orange light. Now just the rest of the lighting to do...
  13. not to sure if anything has been updated through covid with many members shielding, but im sure it will be worth a return visit that is a very good point, ill make sure to mention it to the publicity team, i simply help them out on facebook mainly, it will be great for the railway to return and continue on,
  14. Hello everyone. Hopefully we will be re opening at Easter for 2 days. But please keep an eye on the Facebook page or website for more information. In the meantime for those who have never been before. Here's a little bit about us. Welcome to Gainsborough Model Railway, we have hand built one of the Largest model railways in ‘O’ gauge, depicting The East Coast Main Line from Kings Cross to Leeds Central. This is no ordinary model railway, but a truly remarkable product of the model makers art. Based on the East Coast Main Line from London Kings Cross to Leeds Central, the railway covers 2500 square feet, has over 1200 feet of main line track and needs ten operators. Come and see authentic replicas of famous locomotives such as Flying Scotsman, Papyrus and Mallard, just three of the numerous locomotives used on this model to haul crack expresses. The period modelled is from the late 1940’s to the end of the British rail steam, with acknowledgement of the diesel era. It is in the operation of the railway that we have concentrated our efforts. The jewel in the crown is our model of Kings Cross a magnificent achievement in view of the fine detail incorporated into the model. The passenger station can accommodate ten trains, the track work closely resembles the original , and incorporates some very complicated pointwork. There are over: 150 locomotives 100 coaches 200 wagons and vans 150 pieces of pointwork Half a mile of trackwork 9 stations It really is well worth a visit !
  15. Another loco joins the fleet. Hornbys latest sentinel 0-6-0 stanton in Standard sentinel green. As far as I know was its ironworks guise and later repainted yellow for ncb. Which makes me wonder why Hornby called it an ncb loco livery. The 6 wheeled sentinel is a brilliant model non the less and fits right in with the fleet

Locomotives Currently operational locomotives are Cranford AV 1919 of 1924 Janus YE No1 2877 of 1963 Pacer 144017 of 1986
  17. Post 2 of 2: It would seem I missed Christmas completely on here. To fit pictures in this will have to be a double post So after Christmas and things appear First of all the layout was trialled on dcc. Something we have been planning for a long time . All went well. While normal operation for the future will be DC it gas proven that the layout is dcc compatible. The only current chipped loco I own is dave rustons wasp striped janus. Next , a gift from my partner. A 3rd tram. These will be a lot of use on a future layout , but while they look a little out of place on Plumtree works , many ex mainline locos worked on the works. So at home it's fine. And finally. More modern road vehicles in for some weathering.
  18. Post 1 of 2: It would seem I missed Christmas completely on here. To fit pictures in this will have to be a double post First of all Plumtree works went into Christmas shutdown mode , just like the real works all steel was sent off to its customers, and the works trains and maintenance teams stood talking , I mean got to work! Rail tours on both the narrow gauge and mainline were operated. And then slowly all the locos returned to sheds for the Christmas break.
  19. Think this one will stay spotless . Keeps comming to the shed for repairs, so probably cleaned a lot lol
  20. They previously said a 3 car wouldn't be worth while unless anything has changed. I'm hopeful for a 144017 in a metro livery
  21. I'm not sure if any blue are left. It was a fairly limited run
  22. The blue boy has landed on Plumtree works
  23. Thanks for the info. I hadent realised it had been rebuilt. I didnt expect them to cater to all designs but I use seen they are now doing an open cab type
  24. Not sure if this has been mentioned. Is daphnes cab correct?
