Class 143 DMU detail photos and drawings?
Mark Saunders replied to Pillar's topic in UK Prototype Questions
Follow the example of others and go make the effort to take your own; too many people want others to do the leg work especially when there are still examples still in existence! -

My Epson scanners software has decided it will not recognise slides, so I have used the demonstration version from Hamrick. This is a colour slide I acquired about thirty years ago and it looks like it could be the RTC at Derby. Livery appears to be varnished timber, orange solebar but no idea about the ends.

Two Interesting Dublo Wagons - Are they HD originals ?
Mark Saunders replied to Stentor's topic in Collectable/Vintage
Oh dear, the first is a Dublo Brake Van chassis with a Triang (or later incarnation) Somerset and Dorset coach body and repaint, the second genuine HD Fruit D with added LMS transfers! -
As far as I know there has not been any problems at Riding School Crossing at Saltburn!

Another land slip
Mark Saunders replied to ess1uk's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Maintenance budgets slashed year on year and it looks the same on motorways as potholes are developing on seven year old bits and the number of small yard square bits of tarmac is growing between Leeming and Barton on the A1. The A66 has had closures due to slippage and likewise the A59 between Harrogate and Skipton! Piecemeal maintenance akin to only mend it when it breaks is the norm in what are allegedly building maintenance contracts which are really repair contracts! -
Stewarts & Lloyds wagons 1923-1945
Mark Saunders replied to Alex TM's topic in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling
These wagons had RCH brake gear rather than NER/LNER style with and the drawings for these are in the NRM Charles Roberts drawing collection at York. This design was also built for Lancashire Steel at Irlam that was also part of S&L. -
You've got to remember how much spin has been directed against the project coupled with tunnel vision of the "High Speed" bit without realising there will be benefits other than journey time!

Bachmann 38-627 FGA wagon or any FGA available
Mark Saunders replied to adds-trains's topic in Wanted
Alternatively remove the headstocks, and convert to an inner or source a conversation kit for the Triang one. -
Bachmann 38-627 FGA wagon or any FGA available
Mark Saunders replied to adds-trains's topic in Wanted
The majority of the singles were converted for EWS to replace the Tench (Sturgeons with sides) to produce Supertench which were loaded with dropside modules to produce a long low open in the same fashion as the Borail/Mullet conversions. -

The plant at Ferrybridge was still there but moribund when I was last in the coal plant when they were removing the coal stocks by rail!
