  1. Thanks so when will the Bachmann decoder be available? Or can I use a normal 21 pin decoder and just not use the pantograph until the Bachmann one is available? Or can I not use the model until the decoder is available.
  2. Anyone got an eta on these apart from April/ may- we were told they were on the dockside / at sea around the 5th march not that I am impatient of course- no actually I am really impatient been waiting for years for these the anticipation is killing me!
  3. Just for anyone who may have known Tony he unfortunately passed away on the 23rd of march. I only learned on Facebook that his funeral was yesterday. A lovely bloke. R.I.P. Tony.
  4. Was just wondering with the BRM back catalogue being available- how searchable is it can you only look at issues or is there's a search box so I can type in say Bachmann class 70 and it will bring up the relevent articles. Sorry if asked previously last time I looked at this thread it was 9 pages! mark
  5. I guess the money burning in your pocket is really painful!
  6. The way it reads to me in 2 manufacturers in both gauges but this could be the way it's written but then he goes on to say he doesn't think there will be room for 2 manufacturers let alone 3 which suggests competition in each scale.
  7. Did he ever announce he was doing the mk5 coaches, and also announces another manufacturer is working on them! He did not have to say that -starting to be a bit of a spoiler for others announcements.
  8. I would post the bargains or maybe we need 2 threads a national bargain thread and a local bargain (for local people) thread. I await the bargain thread police to drop in as this isn't a bargain post!
  9. Incidentally in the pictures of the latest cads at the bottom of the picture in cut down text it looks like it states created using free version- I guess this will be a free version of the cad software. i have no knowledge of the differences in cad software but will there be a difference in quality between the free and paid for version assuming that's what it means? Can this affect the model adversely?
  10. Maybe we should all send the questions to Dave but not post the response here to avoid doing Dave's job for him and becoming his personal secretaries. If he gets enough requests for info then maybe he will come here and post himself or at least promptly post a newsletter on his site with the answers to the many questions.
  11. I do like the idea of adding the postage cost to the starting bid then doing free postage may give it a go- thanks.
  12. Well it's been nearly 4 days without an announcement someone is bound to announce something!
  13. Quite agree John and I honestly just missed the handrail. Had another buyer a while ago was listing a damaged model explained all the faults and I had a message explaining how much it would cost them to buy the parts to repair so I should drop my price. I don't care if they buy it to throw against a wall to be honest anyway someone paid the asking price and I got nice feedback!
  14. Not sure who some ebay buyers think they are received this email message about one of my items yesterday. I realise the prosepective buyer may be a member here but I really object to the terminology used- I admitted to the bodyside scratch it's very clear on the pictures and it's in the description and to be fair i missed the handrail- how do I justify the postage charge well Heljan models are heavy. Have been selling models on eBay for some time and have lost out on postage charges a few times but I would never knowingly rip someone off. After an email exchange where I promised to refund if postage was excessive guess what -didn't bid- time waster! All for a £50 Heljan 47. New message from: Apart from your description of this item admitting body side scratch, there is also one cab grab hand rail broken off at this location. Also Royal Mail 1st class charge increased today is only £5.50 for a small package up to 2 kilos gross weight including packaging [which this model qualifies for adequately packaged]. Therefore how do you justify charging £8.50 for postage? Reply
  15. Could do with one of those hattons formation guides, looked online for pics but not so many there that I could find. Want short rake sectorisation era but then the DRS packs look interesting mmmm what to do!
  16. Have just received an email from rails stating the class 90 is due soon which we know but it also details the features of this model with pictures such as the rotating buffers, lights, DCC fitting etc. I am proper excited now! cheers
  17. While duplication can be frustrating it does stop manufacturers announcing models as a place holder as an example there seems to be a flurry of activity on the djm class 92 since the accurascale version was announced where previously the progress was almost going backwards! At least now I am guaranteed to get my class 92 from one source or another.
  18. Just received an email to say the Hornby class 66 are due next week. I think the hattons ones were originally due in March- spoiler on Hornby's part definitely!
  19. Have just watched I think Fran was right and next years range will be a shed load of 92's, Deltic's with some class 91's and even some 90's following on the wave from the sold out Bachmann model (my hope rather than pre-release data)! Although it could be in the short time frame between Simon starting and the 2019 range launch they had to go for some quick wins! Who knows fingers crossed for a new series next year!
  20. Have watched it twice now and now have a sound van on order having watched it and thought 'that looks fun'! Hoping for some new sounds in second run though dunno what though maybe drunk football fans hurling abuse across the platforms! mark
  21. He does say that he expects to start asking for 2nd payments in about 2 weeks which is about the time the latest newsletter will be public.
  22. Have just watched it and really enjoyed it. The previous regime came in for quite a battering I cannot judge how much of that was deserved and how much was artistic license by the program makers but the editing of the guy in the visitor centre was quite telling. The hellcat build was excellent and hope ( I think he was called Jim) got the well deserved credit for an awesome build. Spot the irony I want him to get the credit but can't remember his name! Anyone else checking out the office boards etc for clues to future releases in the office shots? cheers mark
  23. Sorry out of my modelling era so my wallet breathes a sigh of relief but i can't quite tell which scale it is? sorry someone had to say it! mark
  24. Can anyone join the secret squirrel society it sounds like fun?
  25. Thanks for your reply earlier in the thread RBE re the crowdfunding question, have pm'd you. cheers mark
