  1. Indeed they are, however I don't think it's been confirmed that is the issue has it? Could well have been that Key were undersupplied unless I've missed a confirmation that isn't the case
  2. Really weird situation, especially to only find out once other people had already received the exact same model. Presumably one of the Accurascale lads can shed some light, quite quick to reply I find which is refreshing!
  3. Yes. Obviously. Else they wouldn't make them every year
  4. Well, people do like chatting about things they don't have a clue about. (not here, of course 😉)
  5. At risk of reviving the little toe-to-toe that's been had above, I am led to understand that the reason that the Hornby 8F models isn't seen more frequently given the amount of class members and reach etc is that it has always sold rather poorly. Maybe a more detailed one would sell better, maybe, but I wouldn't want to spend the tooling cost to find out that was wrong!
  6. Bloody hell the blokes only been there for 5 minutes. The level people are willing to dive into the personal lives of people at a company they are customers of is mindblowing to me, and in this hobby at least seems to be exclusive to Hornby for some reason.
  7. Have you asked anyone at Hornby? You say no one has given a realistic response, but if they don't work for Hornby, how would they?
  8. Hornby sell, or sold, Oxford in the same way that Kernow sell Hornby as far as I'm aware. If you had a gripe about Hornby, you wouldn't cry to Kernow would you (or maybe you would, but you shouldn't) Perhaps Oxford queries should be put to Oxford directly?
  9. Not sure on other people's perception of the brand, but I love Oxford. Their Dean Goods is one of the best running locos I own, their Janus is one of my personal favourites and their wagons are second to none for the price.
  10. But one of the perils of having fragile parts fitted in the box I suppose, one (the front most one as below) looks a little bashed up on the image by Suzy above (and below!), I suppose with a very detailed model it's bound to happen, hopefully only a handful
  11. Maybe best to contact Oxford about it as, as far as I understand, Hornby's listing of OR products has been much closer to retailer that manufacturer. Oxford has, and has always has had, their own customer services, spare, repairs and development people.
  12. Seen on Faceache that they have 'found' some more BR Blue GT3 models that are available direct, should anyone want one who missed out
  13. Yes, they have. What a cheery outlook you seem to have...
  14. Perhaps, for mass factory production, your solution is not as blindingly obvious as you attest.
  15. With the Tyne Dock 9F presumably being a newly tooled body (they've never mentioned it in their tooling back before as far as I'm aware), has the chassis been modified to correct the hitherto now incorrect wheel spacing that 'the other company' got right?
  16. I don't think it's stock clearing, I think it's just jiggling some prices to make them a tad more realistic
  17. Does that count as copying/gazumping or does that only apply when it's Hornby that announce their version second? Quite like the 009 collector club wagon so that may well be a join there Favouring industrial locos these days not too much I'd like loco wise (other than the 14s but I don't do N) but again I'm taken with a Bachmann 50's/60's ish building, I like those shunters huts I like the moving mountains set, mainly because it's nice to see a set with a decent number of wagons in it Not convinced by the finish on the teak coaches, but all in all a nice range of stuff
  18. Lamps fully removable, if the lamp irons are in place (i.e no lamps fitted) the light won't be visible
  19. Seems like a Hattons problem, the Hornby Sentinel is 'Pride of the Fens' not 'Derwent'. Definitely no lump here:
