  1. Oh, have you been? I didn't think it was open yet?
  2. The first of the new boxes were released while Simon still worked for Hornby, on the 9F
  3. If it was 'meant' to have the new drawbar design, it would
  4. Wouldn't imagine the CS guys/girls also do the warehouse bits and bobs but may well be wrong
  5. Hopefully something fresh, not seen before at least in RTR 4mm. Duplication of existing models, especially more modern ones is nowhere near as exciting as something new.
  6. I wonder if, assuming that CAD is not a larger scale one shrunk down, they have realised that with no sign of anything to do with a Hornby TT 31 they are going to go ahead with it as a first attempt to see if there is a viable market for them to join.
  7. Unbelievably unlikely due to the cost of tooling a new loco and the demand (or lack there of) for one
  8. Hornby should be able to replace both for you if you ask nicely :)
  9. One of the things that makes this demand I think is the tendency for a model to be released, sold almost immediately, and never ran again versus 'back in the day' when a specifically numbered model would sit in a range for years on end slowly ticking sales over.
  10. I think you potentially risk mixing your personal experience with what Hornby will know to be true. FWIW I've never had any trouble with any Hornby loco with the fixed drawbar and wire arrangement.
  11. I'd be willing to bet that the prices are set by a person, or team of people, presumably some more aware than others as some prices seem pretty good, and some are completely out there
  12. Quite a lot of manufacturers do this to be fair, it isn't just KR, only a small handful design in the UK, and they tend to be the more established brands as far as I'm aware. Of course, you don't have to actually have ever seen a locomotive to design it well, but it'll all depend on how good the input of the people who have seen one is during design reviews!
  13. We always see close up issues of images posted on here, and it's certainly a valid point to make, as it the fact that on a layout it makes no difference at all!
  14. A rather odd little gap I now can't unsee which is annoying. It looks like the handrail tapers out towards the 'floating' end so maybe an attempt to model that bracket was there, the overall length of the rail was just too short. I'm sure it'll be confirmed in any case
  15. Not really how that works, it took this long to get it out with the design as it was, any changes would have meant potential chassis retools and even more delay. People have been moaning about this delay for three years, and now you want more!
  16. Because it is a sample, which has been decorated. It might not be fully decorated, but the first decorated sample tends to just be the base colour, once that is refined a model can be sprayed that colour and then have the decals printed on it for the second decorated sample.
  17. Some oddity in the email I notice, for one it tells me that as I filled in an EOI I get first dibs on ordering, but then directs me to the publicly available Class 40 listing, and the price is listed in the email as DCC Ready - £210, whereas it seems to be £175 on the website. Still, small things, wouldn't stop me putting my Hornby RR one out to pasture.
  18. An uncharacteristically normal email from KR tells me the 40 is going ahead! Some nice renders in the email, alongside two fictitious liveries - EWS and Regional Railways D326 going ahead too 1st QTR 2025 apparently
  19. Available from the spares guys, X7938
  20. Two trees, one laying in each direction moulded in resin so the clarity isn't great. The all knowing gate keeper of the hobby S**'*T***** failed to notice this too which you would have thought he would have. Maybe he was distracted by the sound of the axe grinding in the background?
  21. Indeed they are, however I don't think it's been confirmed that is the issue has it? Could well have been that Key were undersupplied unless I've missed a confirmation that isn't the case
  22. Really weird situation, especially to only find out once other people had already received the exact same model. Presumably one of the Accurascale lads can shed some light, quite quick to reply I find which is refreshing!
  23. Yes. Obviously. Else they wouldn't make them every year
