  1. Here it is https://www.Dapol.co.uk/Dapol-OO-Gauge-Turbot-Update
  2. Had a look at these last night at MRSI towers. Very very impressed along with the pre production IRM Tara Mines Wagon
  3. RevolutioN announced it for their IZA pairs. Lets see who gets to market first
  4. They look very similar to the bogies on the VTG telescopic hood wagons, also made by Dapol.
  5. How different (modelwise) are they from the Dapol HIA if they are almost double the price
  6. Concentrate on what you are doing first. No point in promising to do anything and everything and then having to provide reasons/excuses as to why you have not met targets
  7. It only ever had the Red Backed plates in preservation. As modelled by Hornby complete with the LA branding under the drivers window which is only correct for preservation The NRM dont have a set (they have the Sir Edward Elgar GWR Castle steam ones though) - Ive seen a genuine set (name, number, BR arrows and GWR Crest) owned by a member of a Class 50 preservation group, among the last things to be cast at BREL Swindon too, and cast brass so very heavy As regards them selling or not, who knows, most of the Kernow Exclusive models can still be got from them, 512 editions. Personally I feel 50 or less is a true Limited number, but Hornby wouldnt make them in that few numbers without a big surcharge
  8. They might not do D400 as it never had the grabrails fitted above the taillights unlike the other 49, there was an article in a recent Rail Express Modeller showing how to do it
  9. Someone didnt do their research at all with that model of 50033, lets hope they do before it sees production. Nameplate position is wrong Pity they only offer the Intercity HST Power Cars as TTS sound too, they would sell well as a normal set And the Rudd/Clam/Tope wagons only appeared in the very late 80's/early 90's For the post steam modeller this is diabolical, but I appreciate Hornby need to appease the market that sells the most. They are still the 'definitive' Model Railway brand
  10. I find with them it depends who you get on the phone. But bare in mind it is a busy time. Not defending them either, just a satisfied customer
  11. Au contraire, placed an order online for 4 weathered ones (Id not pre-ordered them) and received them quite quickly
  12. Nice article on 50 modelling in the current Rail Express Modeller
  13. If Brian didnt have Extreme Etchings/Shawplan he would be the ideal contender
  14. It had the '425' repeated on the front ends in the mid 1990's, except the 2 was bigger so it looked 425 https://www.flickr.com/photos/71592768@N08/21644562812/ http://www.railphotoarchive.org/rpc_zoom.php?PrevImg=0561020073000&aid=&InFrame=&_PAGE=
  15. Hornbys updates - https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/news/the-engine-shed/a-touch-of-class-87
  16. Joining the RPSI is the same experience. No wonder membership is on the decline
  17. Kernow email today states 47306 will be available in 2 weeks. Funny that their own D600 Warships are a mere £10 more
  18. Im also surprised at this one being offered in a weathered finish, when for a good time in its BR career it was kept immaculate with whitewalled tyres, painted axlebox covers, painted pipes on the bogie sides etc. Also will it have a black headcode box at No2 end? I know they have chosen it as its preserved locally to KMRC but its not the only 47 to wear this livery
  19. Ive seen plenty of well made brass models and people learning as they go along including myself. You wont suddenly become a master modeller overnight either, Ive a 'hall of shame' too Nobody makes the 20ft flat wagons in brass though, unless you wanted to scratchbuild them
  20. Id not call anything produced by Irish Freight Models 'excellent' in the slightest. Maybe 20 years ago but certainly not now
  21. Excellent, and so much for waiting for the Dapol one. Prepay price is reasonable too. But Ill still make the several Cambrian ones in the 'to-do' pile
  22. Both 50033 and D400 need a little surgery as they have rather unique cabfront handrail arrangements; D400 does not have the grabrails above the taillights at either end, never did and the only 50 like this 50033 does not have the grabrails above the buffers at No1 end, obviously lost an argument with something in the 60's/70's. Also 50033 ended in Large Logo Blue, it changed colour a bit towards the end of its BR days
  23. Given this model was almost 3 (or 8) years in the making it had better be flawless
