I really dislike this company. They make videos on their YT channel of "why is model railways so expensive"? Or "Look Hornby what we have" aimed at obtaining items for cheap. Then they go & empty the contents of a skip on ebay for prices that are being asked for bang up to date models. Talk about irony!
  2. Try... "Sold as seen - Non-runner - Gears and wiring loose from motor - Missing one coupling hook - £49"!!!🙄

    "FED UP WITH BRIICCKKKKK!"
  4. Just for context, DCRail have bought 14 of the non-running Class 60s. From well informed sources on other forums majority of those are likely to be refurbed & returned to the rails. So some will be coming back in their diesel form.
  5. I came across your Youtube channel recently & subscribed. I've also found the thread here! C'est un super petit chemin de fer avec beuacoup de réalisme. 😀
  6. Took delivery of a Lima 20 in the same colours. Here is my reference point for the weathering!
  7. Thanks for your interest. This has already been snapped up.

Clearly Sam isn't making enough off his YT vids & algorithms so he's turned to milking trash on ebay 🤑
  9. Uggg! Just bought a Hornby class 57 to detail & improve the other day! Should've waited a week 😅
  10. Personally I always thought the 500 series was the best looking Shinkansen that was made. When you think of bullet train, that is literally what I would imagine a train to look like!
  11. Kernow have multiple Ruston 48DS at 69.99 https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/66890/R3852-Hornby-DVLR-Ruston-and-Hornsby-48DS-0-4-0-Diesel-417892-Jim
  12. What are people's loco fleet sizes like?

    I have 2 x shunters & 6 x big diesels to operate 2 micro layouts 🤔

The first rule about how many locos you own, you don't talk about how many locos you own!

For a small Scottish branchline with two services a day each way, I seem to have an awful lot of Class 37's...

      Eighteen at the last count....

  13. I came across @James Hilton YT channel last night & have ordered a copy of this. I already have 2 micros near completion, but I love looking through other tiny layout & ideas for the future & admiring other setups.
  14. As Graham Farish are owned by Bachmann & already produce an N gauge version, dare I dream of a Class 319 in OO? 🤔

On the other side of "madness" (in that it's a great deal) is this micro layout! Spotted on my "inspired by recent views" at the bottom of the page

I remember as a kid in the early 90s buying decent sized Lego sets with my pocket money. LEGO seems to have become a bit like model railways & moving into the "premium-type" hobby.
  17. Oh boy. The 3 car might tempt me into a small Irish terminus layout! 😀
  18. I have a Vauxhall Viva from 2018. It's the baby Vauxhall with a 1.0L engine. Make no mistakes it's a small car by 2018 standards. I was behind a Vauxhall Astra from 2003 & my car was the same size, if not slightly wider. The Astra was the mid range family hatchback/saloon of the late 90s/early 00s, so it shows how much even "city" cars have ballooned!

That's a shame. Emporium used to be good value & have some bargains. Lately they've been taking the proverbial with asking prices. Another retailer to chalk off the list
  20. Used to be very reliable, but I suspect they've hired lots of new staff on different contracts that don't require as in-depth knowledge about rolling stock. Majority of items are now "pristine" packaging, "untested" running condition & "as new" condition when these items are clearly a few years old. I used to purchase a fair few items but avoid Hattons pre-owned like the plague now sadly.
