  1. I've got a layout (well, I say layout but it's just a plain baseboard with ballasted track) that I'm currently trying to get all of the track off and then reuse the baseboard for something else. It's all been nailed down and I've got all the non-ballasted track off the board. Currently, it's sitting outside as I'm going to soak the layout on warm soapy water* in hopes of clearing all the ballast off. This is the section that needs doing. I've already got a bowl full of warm soapy water and I'm using a cup to take the water from the bowl and pour it onto the layout. *Note: I did some research to see.how.i could remove the ballast and this was the approved method.
  2. Class 170 170485 and Class 155 155342 depart from York enroute to Hull on 18/02/23

  7. I've only just learnt that there are only 7 Class 155s (155341-155347) left and are all in service with Northern. I reckon I've probably rode and seen on all of them at some point during the last couple of years.
  8. Class 158 158859 approaches Hull Paragon on 04/02/23. The Class 158 nearest the camera is the one posted earlier, 158867.
  9. You would have thought the NRM would have saved one for their museums in York or Shildon.
  10. Anyway, back to North Shed: I visited again on 22/08/22 and saw the two Class 108 power cars and... Class 09 09017!
  11. Speaking of steam locomotives, turns out 24/02/22 isn't the last time I saw 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley any longer. I saw the loco at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway's annual steam gala last year. I went on the 23rd and was lucky enough to ride behind it! At Grosmont At Pickering At Grosmont with Standard 4 76079 opposite.
  12. 02/10/22 Saw D1023 Western Fusilier and... ...one of the two Class 108 driving cars with Class 47 47798 'Prince William' in front of it, a GUV, a VBA and... ...Royal Scot 46115 Scots Guardsman!
  13. Been a while since I've last posted on here so I'll get you all up to date. 18/09/22 D1023 Western Fusilier, in the same place as last time.
