  1. Probably the fact there have been multiple duffs at a ‘decent’ level for some time. Whereas many areas go untouched, DMUs, EMUs…
  2. Nice to see the class 40 with the light fitting? Is this a simple mod or will we see a re tooled model at some point?
  3. Given 007 now has another number, a new release of that could be on the cards. Although would be annoying to have a correct singular one and an incorrect pair. That’s if someone doesn’t attempt a retooled 50 soon, which I feel is looming…
  4. Risk of doing voyagers etc, I think I remember the early Bachmann ones having to have the ‘rights’ as the voyager face is copyrighted. I think? Or at least under virgin, which is why to my understanding the 222s look different. Bachmann had plans for the 222 but it was halted. Now with the 47 project, it’s clear Bachmann might defend their range. I think the market is crying out for more units, the 180/175 market is probably the best bet. 175s can be 2 car, so great for layouts and 180s can go to 10 for bigger layouts. Or at least that’s my opinion. I’ve heard rumblings that the 170/168 retool should appear soon, but I feel that is probably wibble.
  5. Very much agreed, when Bachmann units from 2009 have a more sophisticated dcc interface then a new tooled 2021 unit, it is shocking. Hornby could’ve used the VEP coupling? I believe that’s their only conductive coupler (early Brighton belle). Like when compared to the much older Midland and Western Pullman, it is disappointing.
  6. Ironic that he posts it on book of the face, one of the biggest froth producers known to man!
  7. They could re release the older tooling, but it probably wouldn’t be budget. The last ones were £169.99 rrp before being removed from the website. Although they could’ve done what they did with the 45s, 66s and later 37s and reduce the price. I suspect the reason they haven’t offered the older ones is the same reason Hornby don’t do many railroad HSTs. I’m sure the majority wouldn’t care about the detail differences and just buy the cheaper one, if the vocal voices on Facebook and etc are to be believed. Hopefully with the new duff we see re-releases of the MK2F in blue and executive! With a decent number of TSOs!
  8. Whilst the fans may not be to some people's taste, I agree they seem a bit pointless. However I’m sure many will be happy with them. It’s nice to see some innovations and new features not seen before, hopefully they don’t turn out to be gimmicks. I also hope that we see an improvement in the bogie design, I’ve noticed on a few of my Bachmann ones the bogies seem to ‘Bob’ back and forwards on the rails. I’ve found that the loose central axle on the Heljan models doesn’t have this issue. Hopefully the central axle on these new ones have some give. The snowploughs seem disappointing but one can easily get some decent third party ones, so not really an issue. It will be interesting to see the effect this new one has on prices. Will older Bachmann models suddenly be flung on internet auction sites?
  9. Although the 45 is offering variations not done by Bachmann the /1 and far more detail than their ageing tooling, but back on topic. I think the normal versions are cheaper than Bachmann with the gaugemaster ones being on similar footing, there have been some issues in the tooling which hopefully are corrected. Maybe they’ll do a 25 and do another quick batch with popular liveries Bachmann haven’t done atm. NSE, LL maybe a few odd balls?
  10. Maybe some colour matched mk3As will appear?
  11. Hst prices after Hornby price rise 2020 releases scotrail and swallow buffered set now £319.99 2021 FGW and BR Blue railtour set £329.99 Blue Pullman £346.49
  12. For wagons, I’d love to see a proper clay hood. With an actual representation of a hood, not a tea cosy. Or a clay liner wagon, big gaps in the market.
  13. Wonder if 45 060 will have the seal beam upgrades to the front details, sadly 020 didn’t.
  14. Like what’s happening with the 159. Some shops have the DC version for more than the sound, think Kernow had it that way
  15. The question is, will Hornby tool for the 3 light midland option, would fill plenty of gaps and allow some more liveries to be done that we haven’t seen. And with the prices of the incorrect EMT ones going on eBay, seems a no brainer. Along with all the special LNER/EMR ones that have this set up.
  16. Was interested in the Hornby blue one, however it’s price was already pushing it for an ageing tooling with many problems only for it to now rise even more with the July rise. I’ll go with the new model, the renders already look superb.
  17. It’s looking really fantastic! Very enjoyable to watch it progress.
  18. With the recent price rise, the blue Pullman is looking increasingly more expensive, do we know if the tooling will have any other mods? Or is it just the headlight.
  19. Another new addition to the fleet, the Bachmann 46. Nice to finally have a domino 46 with lights.
  20. The prices the Vanguard and Ajax models go for on eBay, would be a good seller if done
  21. Thanks for the clarity, a shame but not unsurprising. So I’m guessing that all the 2021 stuff will now just be the full rrp of the original price at shops?
  22. It would be nice, but given Hornby didn’t remove the handrails on their previous D400 attempt I doubt they have the tooling for a smooth nose. This is something I feel other manufacturers could capitalise on…
