I wanted a PSC Radley hunter stack for one of my Hon3 locos .11 usd plus 20 postage to uK .They can stick it .I have got some Cary castings for a shay and other parts coming and only 70 usd posted so some are still a bit cheaper .Anyone got a woodburning stack for a shay out there .I finely got my MDC Shay running very sweetly.

My boss hired a Cherry/Sunny or some such Datsun(100A?) for me as the company van was in dry dock and he was tight fisted .The little one with sloping back and louvres from memory .It got a bit windy.it was like badly made roller skate . It was awindy day . I opened the drivers door on top of a hill only to have the wind gust fold it double back on its hinges front .ie hinges were in the right place but the doorpanel was folded flat against the front wheel arch panel ,I couldnt believe it but just folded it back with some force and shut it .There was a large crease down the door vertically .My boss wasnt pleased and didnt believe me .He got a hefty bill I think .What aload of crap it was .I kept my job as his business partner ,who I made model race cars for , employed me mainly to keep an eye on him .In the end I told my 'employer "to get out, take yer money ,and run (record industry ).I got the van and a goodly bonus .The other guy got 18 months.I had done what I was employed to do ...weird set though .The van was ex Colin Hawkers hack and went like the proverbial .Highly illegal ,.Check out Colin Hawker and his LOLA/VW Varient/DFV.

When Ferrari last had a great run of seasons it had non Italian management,designers , and race directors etc .They knew the job that was needed including cheating their arses off .I gather Ferrari is not a happy place to work for .The minute you suceeded your a target .The minute you failed you failed for Italy .I knew an intinerent F1 engine builder .They exist ,like gypsys , wandering the F1 circus like gunslingers , only as good as their last job .He said working for Ferrari was great for the CV terrible on your nerves,You had to watch your back all the time . His work was even sabotaged .The other guy I knew , now passed away ,constantly raised his eyes at the mention of the team .If only their cars were metallic green I could hate them but they look so good on the model shelf .

My Son in law ran Vettel on his way up in some series and liked him a lot .He was always joking and loved English comedy like 'suit you sir' etc .One of the good ones.

This is common at most F1 events .People go to see the F1 and pay a fortune for the privilage .The feeder formulas do have their followers at dedicated weekends . Not a large amount but it tends to be old school racing where different series all meet up for their own fight . be that in an A35 modded ,to GP3 or Formula OpenSeries and DTM ,BTCC.

They would make his office upside down covered in mud and grass and have him hanging by his straps looking out of a cracked window with a cigarette smoking fan asking for an autograph .He will feel at home then .

The sideshaft on my shay has just one gear .Its on the outer rear wheel .It works fine like this .I have got it running pretty smooth and slow now ,in fact it will creep along with just a slight noise and odd click caused by rear wheel set jumping a miniscule tad .Its main problem is very slow speed wobble which smooths out at a slightly higher speed.Its all acceptable really I am just over fussy .I worked on lots of brass shays and Joe Works while painting for Victors way back when .What we really need is a fabulous gear designer to 3D up some proper side gears which actually work .I am amazed the number that come on ebay of this kit .The new KR models shay shouild be interesting and hopefully the start of many .
