what a disgrace

I would like to know this too .I have a roundy 00 layout with 6 inch radius curves.My Dapol B4 will negotiate it well but i would love the J70 to chug round .Its surprising how much rolling stock gets round those curves.

When I worked at a motor cycle dealer in the 60's the brother in law of the owner ,a snobby meticulous man ,who ran the stores turned out to have robbed it for decades mainly taking bribes from salesmen to stock out of date spares ..In other words the store were far too large and full of then useless junk .It forced the Company to go bankrupt .nothing happeded to him but we all had to look for jobs .No problem in the 60's though.

My son in law saw it in FIA F3 when he ran Lando and Max was competing .He has physically intervened to seperate fathers and sons in his role as Team manager in various formulas.I hasten to add Lando wasnt part of all this .Very complete .I always found Jos as miserble as the few times I met him .Like I said useless drivers living the dream through others. Re screws put black self tapping screws micro into ebay search . Not specifically for this use but I buy from China on ebay .Little black metric screws just like Bachmann use .loads of listing from 1mm self tappers upwards .They do countersunk etc too .I buy in bags of 50 .I always screw kadees as I dont trust glue and neither should you .Poetry.

I have worked in several electronics factories on production lines and those jobs were mindnumbing.Luckily I managed to get into machine setting then supervision .The women who did these jobs just talked all day to each other or even themselves.The jobs were designed that way in a sense, so easy that you just did them automatically .We did have a new works manager once who banned talking .The girls were out in a week and so was he .We had one girl who worked literally twice as fast as all the others and still talked her head off .I had to tell her to slow down for the sake of peace before time study found her .

I ,for my sins , made most of those kits for Victors including the oh so frabjous shays .Lovely kits but oh so dodgy runners especially as I had to produce a good runner.The only model train Bernie Victor kept from the shop was a little Gamecock I made for him . It doesnt run. I still have a Joe works chassis with a gear missing some where .

The 1/72 is nice model .I was commissioned a pilot and some ground types for it .I might even make it .I bought an after market canopy. I am also doing some for a 109 from Airfix ,again a good model .A few years a ago I made a 1/48 Seafire for an elderly Spitfire fanatic .Its the first model aircraft I have made since my twenties so a learning curve again .

Dart castings do an etched brass fold over pocket for coaches and you can also get brass channel from sources that will also make them if closed off with some cover on the open side.The advantage of these is that you can make a drop mounting easily .

More likely to be from the same place the original was made .Of course fakes do appear .Things like Chibson guitars etc but if your paying too cheap its probably a fake and you know it , where as much electrical gear is made there anyway. A team track can be handy as an ifinitely variable industry .It can be used for box cars ,tank cars ,hoppers ,flat cars , even reefers .It could even be on the main line of short lines .

The white is the matting agent as it seems all matt finishes come with a talc like agent that settles to the bottom just like the old trick of adding talc to Humbrol to matt it down .Shake it up and spray it thick and the white crud appears so use thin coats and build up .experiment .A touch of the white stuff weathers a steam loco very nicely used in moderation .I always use an airbrush .

I certainly got some over here Paul it .I use for brass locos as usual.You can let it settle for satin or shake n stir for matt .

Prices prices !! Up Up Up .My wife fancied a seat come gazebo thingy .500 quid .Hesitated a month while I sorted out some new fencing and generally made good the area .Its now 750 squids .Wife has now canceled it amid fairly strong lanquage for her "gosh ,good grief ,blow that" etc .I am very relieved .It looked humungeously heavy to lug down the garden and build .A rustic bench and arbour ordered ,much cheaper and lighter .Phew,saved by price inflation.

All these tunnels will make wonderful bunkers come the crash/fall /decline / appocalypse.
