  1. Morning. I couldn't get back to speak to you again at the end of Saturday afternoon (car share), I spoke to the designer of the 0-8-4 and asked why he had designed it that way, his response was that he was asked to, he said it would work better if rigid or beam compensation.
  2. Rowan Atkinson in "The Secret Policemans ball" possibly I remember O'dendren......Rhoda.
  3. I did some work for a lady called "Cherry Blossom" about 25 years ago, apparently her parents thought it a beautiful name. She went on to marry a Derek Orchard. Life can be cruel sometimes......
  4. If there was a vote today he'd certainly win it one way or another.
  5. That reminds me of the Wipacs you see on mainline preserved stock.
  6. How's progress going ? You can't be slower than us at the moment, I was trying to figure out why the workshop rebuild was taking so long when the brickie pointed out that the amount of bricks we are using equals half a bungalow!
  7. Because he was quite a popular singer....I believe...
  8. Someone drove by my house this morning in an Audi Bloomin cheek of it.
  9. My memory is shot....yes it was a B2, Excellent, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the items I sold as part of a friends estate start to come together, his widow is very pleased that kits etc have gone to good homes where they're being built and used.
  10. Does it matter ? I give horses a wide berth as they are unpredictable, if it makes someone else give them a wide berth too then it's worked. I think of them in much the same way as the HA Traffic Wombles in the black and yellow battenburg 4x4's. People slow down for them as they think they are the Police, if they can't see from a reasonable distance that they aren't then they need to pay more attention anyway.
  11. I know what you mean, I knew a Clare once too. She'd probably have opted for the horse, but that's Biggleswade girls for you
  12. Painting.....oh yes the fun is yet to start. Probably why I keep putting the Mailcoach set to the bottom of the pile, the problem there is the pile is getting smaller. I'm in the midst of rebuilding the workshop and when it's finished and the spray booth is up and running I ought to make a start on it. Ignore me on the track, just a silly joke..
  13. They're looking really good, certainly much better than the mailcoach set which I have to build. I'm tempted to ask if the track is OO-SF........
  14. We've just come back from a week in Italy. Nothing I've read in this thread comes anywhere near the experience of a few miles on Italian roads. Possibly the most amusing has to be parking, not generally by Italians but by anything with an Albanian plate, the final resting place of the errant vehicle makes it look like the driver baled out 50' beforehand and then let it drift into place.
  15. More a case of what you do in it.....
  16. I was arrested once when in a Ford Anglia. . . oh the joys of being young. .
  17. He married Ginger spice, the fine is the least of his worries..
  18. I found it funny. But then I find if I can't please everyone I offend them instead.
  19. You didn't need much room then for an Austin 7........
  20. And yet I was taught that you do not pass on the left side (unless in marked lanes) as the person turning right may well of let someone out from the junction he wants to enter. To turn my truck left into my drive I have to move to the centre of the road, even with a left indicator there are still numpties who try and undertake.
  21. I think there ws a scene in The Commitments where they are in a lift and one of the characters says "why are you bringing the horse in the lift" and the kid with the halter says "he's too old for the stairs now"
  22. Slighty OT I realise but Mrs CPB gets Migraines and the flicker of lights can set her off, for myself I don't really have a problem but whenever there is a hall with Yellow/Sodium (?) lighting I start yawning, The NEC is the worst for me (not just Warley) but as soon as I step outside I'm fine. May well have been something in the hall that unknowingly triggered it.
  23. Why do you think the Temperature went up on Saturday. I was very impressed with the J6's on shed, I have a LRM to build and I'm not sure I can make it look as good as those resin bodied ones!
