    The Australian wildfires are beyond belief. It's like something out of an apocolyptic film. :(

      However, the Aussies from the 'management brigade' are insisting that it is "…...nothing to do with Climate Change". One even used the words Aboriginal people (should it not be Indigenous People?) when saying that 'old ways' of burning back stuff in the winter season have been abandoned and this is one of the causes along with three years of severe drought and 'things' that spark off fires! Now, I can't argue with any of that as I know nothing about the place, except the rather patronising use of dated language that seems typical of the flat Earth thinkers. However I suspect the people being scared shitless, being made homeless and losing loved ones may want to argue about attitudes in their Government and policy decisions after this.

      It's not surprising though, is it? This is exactly the sort of amplification of natural phenomena that climate scientists have been warning about.

    The BBC news website has an article on the Dyatlov Pass incident. Slow news day? God their reporters must be so bored if this is considered news. It happened 60 years ago!

    Anyone remember a layout from a few years ago? Point to point, blue diesels. Had a small halt at the back for DMUs and at the front was a tank wagon cleaning facility? Can't remember for the life of me which layout it was!

    I got an old Atlas Pacific, first released in 1969, and it's possibly the easiest DCC conversion I've ever seen! :D

      Memories of my Akita I had when I lived in Japan. Just wait until she grows up - I'm just over 6ft tall and my Akita's paws reached my chest when he welcomed me home. Lovely dog though.

    My river of Realistic Water appears to be leaking. Looks like my makeshift dam wasn't enough to stop it escaping over the board edge! Ah well, I'll give it a day and add another layer! :P

      I was wondering if mine was because it's an American layout in the main Layout Topics area, and a lot of people have that old exhibition attitude of "Oh, just another US layout." Who knows?

      I posted my layout on the New Railway Modellers forum, which I have been a member for several years, and they enjoy it because it's not the norm on that forum. Different circles of people with different interests. I wouldn't take it to heart chap.
