  1. Hello Accurascale. A few weeks back I had an email asking me to pay for an order for 37001 I have with you with a deposit already paid. Is this a scam or do you really expect payment with no loco available please? Dave
  2. I haven't seen this show mentioned anywhere as yet. Its at Durrington High School in Worthing. W Sussex. Seems to be mainly Industrial and Narrow Gauge railways. However, our H0 US based DCC layout 'K' Street Yard will be making a rare outing to the show. Carshalton & Sutton MRC
  3. ClickC. It looks as though you might live in Sheffield but if you have a friend or someone who can attend ExpoEM in Bracknell Berks, they sell differing types of rail in yard lengths at the show. It's coming up very soon. Dave.
  4. Carshalton & Sutton MRC. Our Club's US based layout is making a rare appearance at the Worthing Exhibition (SWING 2023) on Sat 20th May. Come and say hello if you are in Sussex http://swing.model-railway.org.uk/exhibition.php Dave.
  5. Now that the new track has been laid, the next step for Eight Dollar was to strip the scenery form the 'trestle' board in readiness for new details. Dave.
  6. New third track is in place now together with the new crossings into the fiddleyard. Unlike previously, all six new crossings are 'Frog Juicer' controlled. Dave.
  7. Sometimes you need to start up with the Power Cab on its own, then after, say, 10 secs, plug in the Pro Cab handset set to an acceptable Cab Number. It depends on the Power Cab hardware version. Try it. Dave.
  8. A couple (or is it one) of locos will be making their debut at Watford. A pair of Class 73s. One is a dummy. Both have old Lima bodies mounted on new Hornby chassis. The powered one has twin motors fitted the two cut-and-shut chassis. The non-powered loco has a straight Hornby chassis but the motor bogie has no 'guts' in it. Due to Hornby's wheels being similar in profile to the old Lima wheels that won't run on Code 75, bothe locos are fitted with Heljan Class 14 wheelsets. Dave.
  9. Elbow Lane is back on the road again in less than a week now. We're ate the South West Herts MRS Show at Watford on Sat 15th April.
  10. Elbow Lane will be making the trip round the M25 from Sussex for the day.
  11. Thanks everybody for everything. The layout with its two Switching power supplies wired together to give +12vdc - 0 - 12vdc for operating Tortoise motors made the grade at Ally Pally. No changes were needed from my original wiring of these but I always feel safer checking when using a piece of new equipment. Cheers. Dave.
  12. I've had a few of these. I'd recommend them for almost anything. Things to note are: The battery lasts just long enough for the amount of resin. Always switch off asap Easy to use tube. Glues almost anything Place a spot (or larger) of resin, hold the item in place and shine the LED. 5 - 8 sec. The UV LED light must be able to reach the resin. It cannot be in a hole etc. but it will shine through itself. 13. Less than a week now and with our Clubroom situation, Falcon Road is already loaded in three cars. Come and say hello. Dave.
  14. As I said AndyID. They are not used for anything else (and will never be). The layout uses DCC. Cheers Dave.
  15. Good thinking. It's what concerned me the most when deciding to use them. They have their own internal. Dave.
  16. Thanks to all the team at Basingstoke. Elbow Lane enjoyed its visit for the weekend. Very well looked after. Thanks Dave.
  17. I have two of these Switching Power supplies. The connections show are top to bottom: mains in, mains in, earth, 0vdc out, +12vdc out. The earth tag tests as connected to the metal body and NOT the inputs or outputs when the unit is not live. I have the 0vdc of one connected to the +12vdc of the other. this gives +12, 0v, -12v and this is used to operated Tortoise point motors and nothing else. The two Earths are currently connected to a Kettle type mains lead having a 3amp fuse. All these and a chassis type transformer are housed in a plastic project box. Should I retain or remove the earth connections to these two please? Dave.
  18. So. I have two switch mode power supplies. Each has an Earth tag in the connector block. Can I use these two in a common return configuration please? Dave
  19. There's another way. A rotary switch. 4 pole 3 way. The 3 ways representing straight or the 2 ways over the crossing. The 4 poles operating the 4 differing frog areas or just the two of the crossing if you are using Unifrog turnouts. The switch knob will also indicate the route setting frog wise. Dave.
  20. How are you powering the points? Dave.
