  1. Just seen this thread. The very best I have found for this and now used on all our Club layouts are Black commercial Table Cloths. Polyester. Don't crease when you fold them up. I buy from eBay. Many sizes available. I use velcro sewn on by my wife but also easily pinned on.
  2. Now I have a little spare time, work has started to lift the Flatbottom double slip and replace it with the new Bullhead one.
  3. I think this is a bargain. My Lidl has Copper Tape 5cm x 10m £4.99. Under 'Garden Grabs' Dave.
  4. There is another way if the loco you want to select is not in the Recall Stack. but only if you have Firmware 1.65b in the Throttle. There is a setting that prevents the resetting of a loco's chip. I have added it into my old Power Cab Handbook. If you do not have 1.65b Firmware, a new chip can be had from the likes of CoastalDCC. It's easy to fit. This will also give you the 6 Recalls. Dave.
  5. The problem here is that 'some' wheels touch the adjacent wing rail when passing through the crossing. There is a very simple mod that Peco could carry out. That is NOT the power it. Simples Dave.
  6. Sunday was quieter than Saturday. By the way, there was a show last year. Dave.
  7. I said this. ..................... Just as an aside. The Track Bus as a circular thing is fine. It's just the same as having a circular layout. However, DON'T have a circular Control Bus. That's a no, no. Dave.
  8. Been there, done it but the T shirt didn't fit.
  9. Re the shorting problem. I had no problems until I ran a Hornby Class 31 through. (the Super detailed version. not the Ex-Lima) It shorted. After some investigation I have concluded that the problem is the wheels. The tyres are wide and have extremely little coning. Also the radius between flange and tyre is almost non-existant. Dave.
  10. We seem to have digressed on to Track Bus now. My comment was about the Control Bus which doesn't go anywhere near the track. NOT the Track Bus. Dave.
  11. I was going by this and others. ............ As mentioned above, the maximum length of the Cab Bus is 500' in a continuous run (daisy chain), any branches off the bus should be no more than 8 feet long. The Cab Bus and its throttle panels should be arranged in a daisy chain fashion, one feeding the next. Attempting to save wire by using stubs off the main bus to feed throttle panels will result in issues. If stubs are needed, they must be very short, no longer than the length of a coiled throttle cable. It is important to arrange and wire the Cab Bus in a linear fashion. NCE does not recommend splitting the Cab Bus nor the use of stubs. As this is a serial protocol, it is meant to go point to point. It cannot be wired as a star, nor should it form a closed loop. ................................ Dave.
  12. I stand corrected. What is the scientific justification then please as we have a club layout that could benefit from it. Dave

  14. Haven't seen anything on here about the above. Details on their website and Events. Dave.
  15. At last! I can now get rid of the temporary flat bottom double slip and ballast in the correct Bullhead. Only been 2 years. Dave.
  16. Just another observation amongst all the others. The prototype's side windows clearly follow the corner radius used on the early 2Hals (Mr Bulleid's instruction seen on a GA drawing) and the Bulleid Subs. However, have they not been to measure it? Dave.
  17. Just ordered and paid for a BH Double Slip from Hattons that they say is in stock. £60.00 Fingers crossed. Dave
  18. No doubt you are using an NCE Throttle. Glad it's sorted. Dave.
