  19. If you read Leslie Thomas, "the Magic Army" you'll get a flavour of what it could have been like.
  20. kitchen rebuild come to a halt when new (deeper) sink needs to have water flowing uphill to get to waste pipe - so have to remove dishwasher + cooker + cupboard to reroute. All because water won't flow uphill.

  24. Just had a look at the Tucker book. Salient points which you may like to note for sizing purposes: Quote "running round a 12 coach train" From a photo - at least 30 4 wheel vans in the platform road. From a quick approximate measurment of the plan, 3/4mile from the junction to Ferry's corner then half a mile to the end of the line. It's bigger than you think! Surprised me.
