  2. Got as far as Bridgnorth for our llong weekend in Ludlow and car dropped clutch. Six hours later we're back home. @rse!

      We got to Bridgnorth at 18:30, got home 00:30, so nothing doing. Found an overpriced chippie, though.

  25. was teaching Excel to first years today - developed a matrix and asked them to calculate some intermediate values - they got their calculators out. I give up!

      I took A level maths 12 years ago. We were encouraged to use calculators.

      they don't teach IT in schools, just surfing the social notworking sites.....

      IT apps are glorified typewriters to most schools, used for producing output neatly rather then doing real work with them.
