  1. was teaching Excel to first years today - developed a matrix and asked them to calculate some intermediate values - they got their calculators out. I give up!

      You also need a good tool chest and a vernier/micrometer as you have to cut tube to 1/10 mm

      That accuracy; I think could manage....My signals and points will all effectively be on one baseboard, so mechanical working really appeals.

  7. Discovered that building the levers on the Scale4 Soc lever frame the right way round first time would reduce the requirement for swearing at myself.

  9. Have just learnt, via a Christmas card, that the husband of a couple we used to camp with about 7 years ago has early onset dementia, has had to be Sectioned and now can't feed himself. He's younger then me!

      Dogs chewed our digital set-top box remote, but you can't buy them as a spare. So I had to buy a new set-top box. Even so, only cost $40
