  1. Seen on a van this morning - "Disaster Restoration Management ". Slightly ambiguous ? Dennis
  2. Decimal point too far to the right ? Dennis
  3. £150 might be nearer the mark for this optimist. Dennis
  4. For those of us who were at school in the 1950s and remember the Davy Crockett film with Fess Parker - Davey, Davey Crockett, went to the moon on a twopenny rocket, The rocket went bang, His balls went clang, and he found his cock in his pocket. Dennis
  5. Like a lot of threads on this forum, this one reminds us that craftsmanship is still with us. Dennis
  6. Seen in our local hospital today - "Stationary Cupboard " - What else would you expect ? Dennis
  7. Seller "extracting the urine" ? Dennis
  8. If you include postage, you could probably buy 160 tea bags at the supermarket, guaranteed unused, for the same cost. Dennis
  9. I'm using a life expired coconut door mat on one of those sisal mats redundant from the kitchen. It's easier on my feet, my next stand being our neighbours retired stair carpet. (NB - I would never drink when using a machine tool, much much too dangerous. My original remark was intended to be facetious, not a serious comment) Dennis
  10. Surely bending the arm and holding a pint, not a file or a crosslide handle, would be more realistic ? Dennis
  11. I seem to remember a discussion about Myfords and raising blocks on the www.model-engineer.co.uk forum recently. Dennis
  12. I'd want a very nearly complete list and a lot more photos at that price. What about a trackplan etc etc ? Dennis
  13. Used to cost a shilling in old money (5p in today's money) but often studied for long hours in great detail in the 60s. Couldn't afford the prices, but great for dreaming ! Dennis
  14. It helps if you have a diorama with curtains down to the floor. You strangle the little bl##der and hide the body underneath. At closing time you walk away and leave the body there. A simple solution. Dennis
  15. Sold by Camel-Laird, at the Old Bazaar in Cairo ? Dennis
  16. Is that Telford Avenue ? I used to live in Mitcham 50 years ago. Yes the trams were electric not horse-drawn. Dennis
  17. Like the poor, the ignorant and stoopid will always be with us. Dennis
  18. A little O/T perhaps. - weather forecaster on Channel 4 - "Light snow will be falling from the sky". Really ? Dennis
  19. I'd be worried about getting insurance for a property so near the coast. In the meanwhile, I'd raise my glass to CK and his colleagues for all the hard work in some dreadful conditions. Cheers, lads. Dennis
  20. I'm finding occasional difficulties in logging in (Windows 7 home premium). Might be the sheer volume of on-line traffic partially resulting from the sales - people buying things they don't need with money they haven't got. Dennis
  21. I have never seen a Star Wars film, but any film that takes you out of your ordinary mundane world and makes ones imagination fly must IMHO be a good thing. Science fiction is great, enjoy what you see and good luck doing it. Dennis
  22. Can we now get back to the subject of this thread please, which is I believe "jokes", and stop pointless and futile arguing about nothing ? Dennis
