  1. Genuinely interested, does this mean you could become a citizen and then vote there, but that would mean giving up your U.K. passport I guess? Or duel citizenship?
  2. Pernod points.......for the instruction of French farmers juiced up after lunch
  3. It was on the BBC TV news at 08:00 this morning.....they stated massive delays due to the 800 fleet having cracks in the “running gear” I believe they said.
  4. And it was a list of destinations the UK Government consider it safe (with various precautions) to approve visiting. Its not a list of countries that will allow the traveller to visit, that’s up to the individual countries and the responsibility of the traveller to find out, the UK Gov is not a travel agent.
  5. Indeed they did, but we are still waiting........it’s not as if it’s a new model locomotive which takes (seemingly many years) to develop and research. I am sure they have all the good intentions of producing them, but.
  6. Besides snowflakes on patio doors would get Penguins running into them......
  7. If you mean (I don’t know, I am assuming from your post and location) that those UK citizens who have moved to another country to live, presumably you can vote in the country of your residential choice? If your decision was to live abroad for longer than the required period to keep UK voting rights, then that would have been your choice. Or is there something else going on?
  8. Yes I looked at the list while waiting in the car park for Mrs BB......and thought...hmmm a nice weekend in the Falklands would be nice
  9. Nah depends upon whether the van operator was actually online and not eating his left over pizza from the night before.
  10. I have been waiting patiently for the multi track gantries from either, I gave up on the Dapol ever seeing the light of day and the PECO ones look like maybe going the same way, but there is a chap on here who is in the planning stage of making his own and for sale to the general dirty public, I hold more hope out for those before the others!
  11. We always vote one way or the other, else we wouldn’t feel able to complain, bitch and moan until the next time. And on a (slightly) more serious note anyone that doesn’t vote really cannot complain when they feel something went wrong. It’s like crashing into a wall with your car because you refused to push the brake pedal and blaming the vehicle.
  12. Precisely, can we get back the the thread core which is “Panic Buying” not “Panic Using”
  13. It seemed churlish not to, I think some were about a third of the price......I figured even if I didn’t use them I could put them on for sale and get my money back. Not a hint, because I really do have the intention to use them @wombatofludham thanks for the info, I think my plan would be to install just one and then work along from that, very carefully.
  14. Much, much too much information now.......
  15. Didn’t need it, carbs with shields are there for heat protection from the exhaust manifold to keep the inlet manifold/carb cooler, not for protecting against fuel dripping on the manifold, fuel dropped on a hot manifold will just evaporate rather than burst into flames. I think (although not that familiar with late Minis) the later Minis before they had the silly single point injection “carb” did have a heat shield, it helped with the emission regulations.
  16. Indeed, it was probably used (or tried as an experiment) as dim red lighting is used in many areas of special use, like armoured vehicles interiors in conflict, submarines/warship areas during conflict situations, there is science behind it as the human eye is more sensitive to red light when at the same intensity as an equivalent white light. Whatever though, it’s going to look odd on a non firebox engine with firebox lighting
  17. Definitely TMI........
  18. I have always had a soft spot for the overheads, no idea why as I was brought up cab riding on the ECML from a dot, but I think it might have been the Triang “Electra” whizzing around an oval on the front room carpet sparking off the terrible OHLE joints with the lights off......it looked brilliant to a little kid. My new layout is small but I am seriously considering overhead for it, I bought a load of Dapol OHLE packs going dead cheap at Dapol (I think they might be loosing interest in it)......I’ll plant the posts first then decide if my now shaky old hands can manage to thread the wires, or get my 2 year old Grandson to help, can’t be much worse And to think this new layout was started out just going to be a GW branch roundy roundy!
  19. I think I love that Nun......is that allowed?
  20. I was just about to mention that incident In the archive we had a 16mm reel of that.
  21. I wish they would focus on delivering down here......
  22. I still have somewhere my original copy, and then a few years later I was given a much thicker copy in plain buff covers
  23. Mmm Banoffee pie.......
