  1. I've put a pre-order in. Not exactly right for the geography of the revenue era version of S&P, but would fit in nicely for the heritage era for hauling excursion trains from Tynworth to Penmouth Harbour, much as what I would be using my USA Dock Tank for 🙂
  2. Thanks all for the replies. I take it there are no serious howlers with the body shape or details?
  3. Check the problems with the cam mech on the close-coupler earlier in the thread. Fixing that may be enough to get it running without derailing.
  4. Hattons have sent out an email for new liveries: https://www.hattons.co.uk/directory/versiondetails/1860/dapol_oo_class_73_electro_diesel_#models Bearing this in mind, and that I never got any of these before despite them being on my radar, can anyone inform me as to their shortcomings?
  5. Just had an email from Hattons outlining the availability: https://www.hattons.co.uk/directory/versiondetails/5374/dapol_oo_0_4_0st_hawthorn_leslie#models
  6. We have Desmond Ridder from the last draft, and apart from the first throw interception in last night's game he's been showing some pretty competent chops. Whether he'll be our long term QB1 is not certain, but only time will tell on that front. Mariota is on a two year contract, so I think the thought with him was to be QB1 for a temporary period while the organisation figures out how to deal with the QB after Ryan's departure to Indy.
  7. So from the three pre-season games, I'm getting a hopeful feeling the Falcons might actually be competitive this year. True, such games can't be taken as a genuine indicator of how things will actually turn out in the main season, but the players seem to be playing better 🙂
  8. I don't think it's been demonstrated yet, so it's probably just a comment as to Sam's approach to such things.
  9. What would/could be the build elements that might affect such a certification? I can only guess it would be things that might mean the design would be compromised from the original LBSC specifications, perhaps affecting appearance or operational effectiveness in some way. I imagine Tornado would have had those compromises?
  10. Which is better, Gravy Mayonnaise, or Gravity Mayonnaise (which is how I read it)...? Also, gravity and biscuits, which can be a bit crumby... 😉
  11. If we're talking 'industrial' then I vote for BPC (and 'sister' Western Pride): https://didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk/article.php/55/1-bonnie-prince-charlie 🙂
  12. Hi all, My memory has become hazy of late as I get old and cranky, so I'm finding I'm forgetting details of past periods of recent railway history. In particular, I've forgotten what TOCs were around for freight work in the South / South West of the country (England, actually) around 2005. I'm thinking it was Freightliner and EWS, but I'm sure there were others. Also, I forget what the liveries were at that time. Any help gratefully appreciated. TIA
  13. Isn't the 20-80% thing something VW espouse due to being somewhat over-cautious with their batteries? I've not heard/read of it being a 'thing' with other battery usage, be it cars, phones, laptops, whatever. I have no BEV car experience, but can say that with smartphone batteries I've always tried to stick to full cycles of discharge then recharge, going as low as practically possible (1%) before recharging fully (100%). I've found in all my time doing so (10+ years with various smartphones) that the batteries have lasted well with no discernible degradation. I still feel that, for BEVs, a battery that is made up of lots of smaller 'batteries', each properly cycled for discharge/recharge in sequence, would help longevity.
  14. I dunno. I can burn water when I try to cook it... 😉
  15. That's why my personal minimum BEV spec is for 500 miles regular driving style range, with quick recharge to 80% in 30 minutes. It seems excessive, but it means there's far less likelihood of having a struggle when unforeseen events occur. Current total range and recharge times are still nowhere near it.
  16. IMO I think the U mogul needs doing more, it was more widespread on the Southern. Unfortunately it's not an 'easy' tooling, otherwise I think it would have been done already. There's still the SR Q 0-6-0 to do as well, I'm kind of surprised no-one's picked off that yet.
  17. While it's possible for people to fix their individual posts, topics, blog entries, etc, if they have the original images, that won't help some threads where they are collaborative. I'm thinking of the likes of the Creative Photography thread, but there are many more threads with multi-user entries that will always be broken if the original image files can't be recovered from the site host discs, and the original posters can't find/no longer have their images. Personally, I'm holding on to the vain hope that somehow recovery can be achieved.
  18. I wonder if this suggests B are working on a complete Peak retool...? It would fit the way they're doing things now, saying nothing until actual release.
  19. I think the extended support was more to do with keeping applications running that couldn't run on Windows Vista or later without expensive rewriting.
  20. Very good video. Nice to see an actual usage of the Preci Models DCC controlled Kadee uncoupling system in action. I'm wanting to use something like that to control an AJ-style design for DCC controlled uncoupling, but I have to figure out how to get a spring return into the arrangement (something Kadees have already built-in).
  21. Weirdly, on the BBC Sport mobile app (Android), it's just 'Bournemouth' without the AFC, so they appear third...
  22. Bmth actually dropped a place since before the start of the season... 😉
  23. Is that so the driver can take fares from the passengers as they board the train...? 😉
  24. I tried for an hour, but had 175k ahead of me at 09:30, gave up at 11:00 with 144k still ahead of me. There are only around 66k seats at Tottenham, so it was clear I wasn't getting any at normal prices. I'm absolutely not going to pay scalp prices, those scalping w****rs can f**k off.
