  1. Fascination collection there! When were the tracks last in use?
  2. Apologies for the duplicate post. Can't get rid of it! I got some strange message saying not to post for another 57 minutes or so.
  3. Ist: My favourite organ piece is 'Widor Toccata in F'. It was my late Dad's favourite piece to play. He was always pleased when he managed it all without a mistake! 2nd: In my view probably their best song. 3rd: Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. I particularly the many live versions. These three will play at my funeral!
  4. You'll be missed Chris. You were a lovely, knowledgeable and brave chap. Always a joy to meet him at exhibitions and chat about GW coaches with his great knowledge on the subject

Though not a dog, a lovely story...... https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/rescuer-who-nursed-injured-dirty-brown-fox-back-to-health-shocked-to-find-his-fur-was-white/ar-AA159xnh?ocid=BingHPC
  6. For your delectation Philip! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glD1LKq9nug
  7. It's good to see movement on this. We can only hope that somebody will take on the Mallard/Blacksmith etchings range.

    On Cats

    Happy Christmas!😺😺
  9. Does anybody know what's happening at Eileen's Emporium? I've checked with their thread on S4 web but no news there. This has been on screen for some time now.
  10. A good watch if rather volatile! I was hoping to see Argentina play Brazil !
  11. Thanks for that both. interesting stuff. Something that I obviously missed!
  12. I've got Tim and Rod coming over for lunch and to play with 'Marsh' which is in the shed. Well, it's a bit brass monkeys in there which I don't mind but I've put a convection heater in there for their benefit!
  13. They forecast that it's going to be colder still then Jerry! 😺😺
  14. https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2022/dec/07/switzerlands-brilliant-new-train-route-direct-from-montreux-to-interlaken I remember some years ago that there was a plan to dual gauge the line but the adjustable bogies idea may have been a cheaper option.

    EBay madness

As would be expected from an ignorant dealer in junk.
  16. Mine arrived today, and lovely it is too. For those of a 'wider track persuasion' conversion will be a challenging though not impossible!
  17. Another video. This time Nick 'Brinkly's' long van train that will run on Balcombe as a fast service to Brighton probably hauled by the 20002 electric machine.
  18. TOTnes, not TotNESS , well it was when I worked at the station there!
  19. Just noticed Steve that I hadn't responded to your post, most rude of me! Nothing yet, apart from looking at them from time to time! I've been servicing the first motorized (B Belle) chassis which needed a good clean and now runs nice and smoothly. Here's a reminder of the layout on it's first outing at Scaleforum 2019. There is much 're-scenicing' to be done and loads of other stuff including backscenes etc., in preparation for its next outing at Fareham in 2024 and Bristol 2025.
  20. Sadly no trace was found of any of this when we sorted though Grahame's effects. We do know that he had a big interest in things Württemburg.
  21. Indeed, it was taken from an US newspaper as a 'stock' photo obviously but interesting nonetheless!
  22. More inspiration from the wonders of the electrified F.S. from Beppe Sartori. We now have most of the locos and some of the coaches shown on here.
  23. There will be many on here who followed Grahame's thread. Sadly a lot of pictures are missing after the server change. Whilst sorting through his effects, we were given his beautiful scratchbuilt Italian buildings by Grahame's daughter which inspired us to build a layout that would do them justice. The 'thinking about it' stage has begun. It will be a single track line much in line with what he had started. It will be set in the 50s and 60s using elderly electrics in the brown 'Isabella' livery and some steam. We now have a good selection of stock but just need the layout to run it all on! It'll be set in a fictitious location, yet to be decided. One consideration might be that it will be set in Liguria on the Italian Riviera. Further inspiration from this image!
  24. The 'eclectic electric' looks like it's a three-phase. We did have one but didn't fancy all that complex 'multi catenary knitting'! We do have a Crosti loco! I must get the Italian thread started before this stuff gets out of hand on a Welsh colliery layout thread! Now started! https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/175964-lisanno-a-layout-in-memoriam-of-the-late-bgman/#comment-5012333
