  1. Love it Neil! Made me chuckle!
  2. Also two obituaries for John Dornom , one of which was written by his cousin David Dornom who will be known to many modellers down here in Devon.
  3. It was at Railex Taunton last weekend.
  4. This is of 'Farringdon' from a couple of years ago.
  5. Iain's funeral was very well attended with the chapel full. We all learned so much about Iain's pursuits throughout his life, particularly some lovely anecdotes about his fire brigade service. A full life lived. Rest peacefully Iain.
  6. Tried to access Modelmasters site This website is currently offline. Hopefully this will only be temporary. Please check back again soon! If you are the owner of this website, please contact support.
  7. Did anybody see the last episode of 'Grimm' tonight?....Wow!

  8. Posted on Western Thunder. Iain Rice's funeral service will be held at the Exeter & Devon Crematorium, on Wednesday October 26th at 2.00pm, in St Paul's Chapel. No flowers please, donations in memory of Iain are for Parkinson's UK, which can be left by retiring collection at the service, or sent c/o Albery & Redstone Funeral Directors 15 East Street, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1AS.
  9. It's been a while since posting anything here! This will be one of the four BR(W) coaches needed for the south coast portion of the WR inter-regional. It was acquired from the estate of the late Geoff Brewin of Comet. It can be truly described as 'professionally built' unlike some described thus on Ebay! I have the Comet sides for the other three. Here's an interesting picture of 20002 at Brighton hauling a set of Collett coaches which will be good to recreate. I have a good selection of 57ft bow-ended kits to build! They're all 'old skool' BSL aluminium kits but with care decent models can be built. Ctsy Southern Way Special Issue Booster Locos: Lilley An interesting 'oddity' is the short lived 4PUL set that ran prior to the 4CEPs being commissioned for around a year. Ctsy First Generation Southern EMUs : Ian Allan : Robertson I have some side etches from Worsley Works for the Pullman car and have commissioned Alan Doherty to produce some etches for the RES car.
  10. The curved crossing into the double sided platform road looks nice and slightly curvy.
  11. Not F1 but maybe a 'Demolition Derby'! Sad know that Michael Shumacker's nephew got a broken back.
  12. Still no progress apart than further acquisitions as other stuff keeps getting in the way! I've always wanted something from the Swiss company HAG and acquired this Re4/4 II for the 'museumlok' collection. It was checked out on DRAG's test track on Monday (it has an '00' circuit) and ran like the proverbial Swiss watch. It's rather 'old school' by today's standards but ran virtually silently.
  13. Sad, sad news. I shall miss him awfully. He was my inspiration to go finescale through all his wonderful books. Rest in peace Iain.
  14. Belated Happy Birthday greetings Rod.
